I bought an old farmhouse built in 1540. In the sixties it was rendered in cement. The house smelt of damp inside. I had all the cement taken off and re rendered in lime. When the last foot of cement was taken off water was running out the bottom of the wall. It was also painted in Sandtex paint over beautiful Ham stone. That was sandblasted off and all the joints repointed in lime. Very costly but well worth bringing a beautiful Tudor house back to like. No more smell of damp after that. She could breathe. Keep up the fantastic work you are doing.
I was going to suggest a sandblasting there are lots of mediums to use Evan a soda blasting will brighten up the brick and stones and remove the concrete
I grew up on the west coast (Vancouver) where moss is a big problem due to the fact that it is a temperate rainforest. Every year we would use a power washer and a pick to clean our roof (cedar shakes). If we hired somebody they would use a solution that killed the moss. What we also learned is that moss does not like copper so one of the tricks used is to use copper flashing high up on the roof where it will interact with rainwater that washes down over areas that could grow moss. It works to reduce or stop moss growth. Maybe some strategically places copper flashing may be useful.
I love Stan’s accent and the fact that he is not afraid to learn. Perhaps those who are focussed on his pronunciation of english words should all learn 5 languages before they criticise. ❤️🇨🇦
