Only thing I really disagreed with was red death, I loved it. Felt like a griselda cypher, and maybe doesn’t work all that well as a stand-alone track, but with the context of this being the final HWH project, as well as the final track on the project it felt like a satisfying outro dedicated to 10 years of dope projects that over the years have featured all of the artists in one capacity or another. Great project overall, definitely staying in rotation.
While I so agree it fits with the album, I found the track to be very inconsistent. By the time it hit Armani Caesars verse, I was just getting a little tired and Jay Worthy's verse literally did not need to be there. I think it's a solid track but it just had parts that felt unnecessary.
@@ValidationOff agreed. It went on too long. It was a great beat but didn’t seem to fit every single griselda rapper, and made the song feel longer than the already 10 minutes
Agree that Science Class would’ve been a great place for DOOM if he was still around. Disappointed you didn’t mention more specifically some of Stove God’s contributions/bars, he was one of the best parts of the album for me
This shit is a light 9 to me, and the best Griselda project of the year. He got a RZA beat then put AA Rashid on it and used it for an intro. What a flex. And I think Red Death is the best beat on the album. My only complaint is that it’s not long enough. Would loved to have seen every member of Griselda past and present on it.
@@jaroslavpohoral1897 tana talk 4 is great, but not as good as 10. Conway’s two projects are good, but not as good as anything he put out this year. This album is west flexing hard, and I’m here for it.
Griselda has had an incredible run 2022. Absolutely incredible projects throughout the year by Benny, Conway, Boldy james and now Westside. And solid albums by rest of Griselda too
As much as I love Peppas, I wish Gunn's verse fit Black Star's vibe more. It was kinda weird to hear Talib end his verse with a reference to the Tulsa race massacre, only for Gunn to come in with "Goyard messenger hanging off the shoulder!" Still a great track though
“Sold crack to a pine tree, barbecue in a swimming pool. Walk around with my shoes tied (shoes tied).”- Dignan from HIVEMIND, impersonating Westside Gunn
Peppas was easily my favorite conductor snapped making that beat west snapped on that beat and black star snapped on that beat I also like the one with asap rocky
Overall a good review from the melon tho, Westside gunn progression through every project is just insane that he can still get better at his age. Super hyped for Michelle
Interesting. About the last track I made an IG post praising that, if you’re going to have a 10 minute posse cut, that is exactly the quality of beat you want. If it was just another soul record horn sample beat I would’ve been extremely bummed. Long bored of the soul sample slow burn beat
This man really recorded himself screaming Gunn’s adlibs for 8 mins straight, then gave the album a strong 10. Inspirational.
Idk why but this sounds like something Kanye will do
it’s not funny anymore
@@bravemenrun. try different jokes

You still have time to edit “was” into “wasn’t”
10/10 another hip hop classic. Thank you Gunn, thank you Tony.

Wow, 10 album reviews in one video? Keep up the hard work Anthony!
MELON IS A TRUE HUSTLER 😤😤😤
I appreciate you not going for the low-hanging fruit of just saying he gave the album a 10.
just a typical King Gizzard october albums review
Lmao, that's so funny!!!
1kth like for the record

All Griselda albums that drop I always go to his features first dude is disgusting 😂

Red Death is 10 minutes of straight heat
except the hook is horrendous
Westside Pootie and Flygod Jr making their mark on this album is beautiful ❤️🔥, can’t wait for more Griselda
a 10? that's insane! wasn't expecting a 10 on this new westside gunn record!
He usually give the score at the end of the video.. but iguess he was so hyped he could’t help it?

Peppas is one of WSGs top tracks for sure. My mouth dropped when I saw the Black Star feature and dropped further listening
Same! And the verse West spits on that joint is easily top five best westside Gunn verses IMO
He bodies black Starr on that you can tell he is going extra hard with his verse… legends

He makes my favorite albums in HipHop... Best ear for beats (and MC combos) of anyone active right now.
From HWH1 to 10, gunn never sacrificed the integrity of his sound, the workhorse of griselda

I gotta say, the early 020s have been pretty great for hip hop so far.
Every hip hop project that dropped on 10/28/22 was a banger
If this album was titled ‘Strong 7’ you would’ve given it a 10
Humbly awaiting the "Remember That You Will Die" album review.
I am wasting away waiting for the Gizztober review, Anthony, please don’t disappoint us by shoving all three in a YUNO

Fantano revealing the album score in the title is so fantano of him
Shootouts in soho was by far one of the best on the album
I’m glad you gave Westide Gunn's "7" a 10
Only thing that would have made Red Death better imo would have been if Boldy James was on there too
Gunn has the best wrestling bars and references of all time
Very brave of Westside Gunn to cover Even Flow on this album
Your comment and your name are both immaculate
cant believe this album was so good, you gave it a strong ten, and then even put it in the title! props to you man, absolutely amazing.

Anthony Fantano. When are you going to review the King Gizzard albums, I need to know if I like them or not.
