Hannay is misidentified as a suspected murder and to be chased by the police resulting from a totally unexpected accident.
To make matters worse, he finds himself being chased by an espionage organization, too.

In order to prove his innocence, he tries to get to the bottom of the matter by using the Anabella’s last words as clues.
He is a man of adventurous spirit, while he is inclined to fall in love with women easily.
