Written by Alexi Hawley and directed by Liz Friedlander, ABC's cop drama The Rookie has been booked straight-to-series in the past and stars Castle star Nathan Fillion.
Based on a true story, The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, the oldest rookie cop in the LAPD, who leaves the comforts of his small town to pursue his dream of being a cop in L.A. At the same time, he's surrounded by other rookies in their early twenties, and the protagonist, who his supervisors think is just in the throes of a mid-life crisis, has to deal with this dangerous, hilarious, and dangerous situation just as his younger counterparts do! He has to deal with a dangerous, funny and unpredictable world, just like his younger counterparts. Dark Matter stars Melissa O'Neil as Lucy Chen, a rookie L.A. cop who develops a relationship with John.
Afton Williamson stars as Talia Bishop, a newly promoted training officer whose first assignment is rookie John, Eric Winter as aggressive training officer Tim Bradford, and Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Wade Grey, the department's supervising officer who becomes a bitter rival to John. Titus Makin is the eager rookie Officer Jackson West, whose father is a high-ranking LAPD commander.
Alyssa Diaz plays Officer-in-Training Angela, who wants to be a detective, but gets in trouble when Jackson West is assigned to her because his father has a say in the police department, and Mercedes Mason plays Superintendent Zoe Andersen, the lead character's assertive, impudent commanding officer.#movie #shorts
My favorite things about Tamara is that she does NOT play or even tolerate it for ANYONE AT ALL to mess around with HER rookies 😊 but i especially completely love whenever she protects lucy ❤ oh! And tim too, its literally the sweetest thing ever. It completely broke my heart when she moved out and lucy was left all alone during THE actual worse time ever😢😢😢😢

@amberbogaert9675 season 6 episode 6 the 10 episode season during the writers strike, they cut like half the plot but that was a major thing that happened. Not on netflix yet I watched it in German dinsey+

Brent Huff who plays Quigley Smitty is awesome.
In real life, Huff has literally done it all.
He is married to a Supermodel and he was actually one of the biggest male models of the 80s doing work for Versace, Armani, Calvin Klein, and more. He was signed to the Ford Modeling Company.
He played an action hero in his first movie which was actually a French Movie with Tawny Kitean (remember her? lol).
He was a 2 sport athlete in college at the University of Missouri where he played Basketball and was a High Jumper in Track and Field with his best jump at 6'10".
Both he and Brad Pitt graduated from the same high school in Missouri.
He has written and sold several screenplays and is also a Director. He also has done tons of voiceover commercials and characters.
There is literally nothing Brent "Smitty" Huff can't and hasn't done LOL.
In reality, Huff has by far had the most "successful" overall career of anyone on The Rookie.
Smitty is the boss.
Even if all he did was play a lazy LA cop I'd still love him.

The dude was a 2-sport star in college for the University of Missouri (Basketball and Track), he was one of the top male models of the 80s, he even is married to a former supermodel, he used to play action heroes in movies, he has written and sold numerous screenplays and has directed over 20 different projects. He has done voiceovers in too many commercials and shows too name.
He also graduated from the same high school as Brad Pitt in Missouri.
Smitty truly is an icon.
