This court case strained the relationship between Dilip Kumar and Madhubala. Dilip Kumar testified against Madhubala in the court, even though he did mention that he loved her. Dilip Kumar's testimony against Madhubala in the Naya Daur court case was the final nail in the coffin of their relationship. Naya Daur gained immensely from the publicity generated by this court case, earning INR 5.5 Crore after its release in 1957.
