Thanks! It has been a lot of work, but honestly its mostly enjoyable. I'm not an engineer, or fabricator by trade, so everything seems to take much longer than I expect. I tend to think of this as a resto-mod type of build as I'm really going over most everything on the car.
Very cool -- I thought I might be the only one who'd considered electric air con. I installed a 130A HILUX alternator on my stroked 4AGZE (1.88L now) to get me the extra 50A I'll need from the AliExpress AC compressor - obviously not as good as mechanical AC but better than nothing!
Would love to see the completed surge tank setup! Seems like a cool work around from dropping the stock tank. Will you be using the stock pump in the tank, and running a high pressure pump in the surge tank?
I'll be dropping the factory tank as well to replace the aging factory pump, run fuel new e85 capable fuel lines and new electric to the factory hardware. The surge tank will be fed by the oem replacement pump and within the surge tank will be a high flow pump feeding the engine. I'll be posting up more videos and will be sure to share how the setup finishes.
how would you reupholster the top of the door cards? Loving the car! Have you considered an accusump for the car with such a nice engine when you don't have a dry sump?
Thanks! The door cards were stripped of the original fabric and I used two styles of vinyl for the new cover. The pattern was simple with the seam dropping towards the window hinge. This was tricky to run thru the sewing machine as I recall. The door card was wrapped with headliner foam and the new upholstery glued to that. The upholstery was then wrapped and glued to the backside of the door card. Finally, the original plastic trim was reinstalled over the whole assembly. I honestly forgot about the accusump system. Have experience with one of those?
Impressive! The scope of your project encompasses so much.

Thanks! I'm sure hoping so!
Really cool and unik work.. would love to see this car finished ;)

Thanks! I'm hoping to see the car finished as well!

This is the updated aw11. That's how Toyota should build it back then

@@zerodrift1 No, I haven't but I have heard good things about them and figured I would mention it. Thanks for the info on restoring the doorcard!
Can we get a video on just the a2w set up? I am a big fan of a2w!
Sure- once I make a little more progress on the setup I'll see about a dedicated air to water video.
