My buddy had a cameo back in the day that was a 4-cylinder 5 speed black on black base model as you can get. Here comes the heartbreaker, back then everybody thought nothing about them other than how hideous we thought the ground effects were so shortly after getting the truck he removed them and ended up giving them away. After that we put a bell tech 3/5 drop kit on it and a set of weld wheels and a cowl hood and called it a day. Now every time I see videos of really nice cameos I send them straight to him just to get a laugh, he hates it LOL 🤣😭! I don't know what we were thinking back then because these trucks are absolutely drop dead gorgeous maybe it's because vehicles nowadays have no character!
I replaced my speakers also in my gmc sonoma and the 4x10's I had to cut the grill because the woofer surround kept vibrating on the grill. I also switched out my stereo so I have more wattage going to them.
I put kickers in my s-10 fronts and they fit perfect with no issues. They was black and yellow in color though, a little different than yours. My other s-10 I put pioneer in the front and they fit perfect with no issues either. Both s-10’s of mine are different, one has vents and the other does not. Not sure why those didn’t fit but glad you didn’t cut anything. For my rear back corner speakers, I used cerwin vegas for a perfect fit also. Zero issues
Hey there bud, I just upgraded the speakers on my Chevy S10 93 because the factory ones (just the right side dash board and the right back seat) were making a scratchy sound, so i switch them for a set of kickers thinking it was the speakers but they still sound the same so I’m having the same problem as you. Will u recommend to change the radio or check the wiring on the inside? Really don’t want to replace it because it’s the factory one and I want to keep it as original as posible!
I'm still struggling with that in several of mine. I tend to think its an issue with the radios, but as you said, im not looking to change them. One day I'll crack open a radio and take a look then send it off to be checked out
I put new speakers in my 93 had to trim the driver side made one last pass with the trimmer and cut my control board luckily a buddy told me about a junk yard right over the TN line in AL so got a $20 part instead of $500 on a whole instrument cluster lol
@@HardCoreGarage hell yea got lucky lol the chevy dealership was no help I just happened to match the number on the board from an ebay one cause they said the gauges wouldn't interchange but I only needed the board not many knowledgeable trustworthy s10 guys around my small town lol
Not cheaping out on wiring can fix the sound quality that is what is connecting everything together i would imagine the wiring could be shot i have a 92 and i am planning do upgrade to sound system nothing crazy but i want it to look original now i probably will end up still going with the adapter even saying that changing the heater core wasnt fun f%%#. that dash
I am trying this currently with a set of JBL stage 3. I trimmed down the stops on the 4 pillars and the passenger side fit perfect but the driver side keeps hitting the backing of the gauge cluster. im not trying to break tabs. Has anyone trimmed the back of the cluster bucket to make this fit happen?
What is a cameo??? I just wire all of my aftermarket speakers to an amplifier this way I know I will not have any problems like you did with one side being louder than the other
@@HardCoreGarage I wasn’t saying you don’t know about aftermarket I was just saying it’s a lot easier to wire them to an amp then to the back of a radio so the cameo came out before the cyclones?
The things I would do for a cameo front bumper 😂🔥
Man i had the chance to buy a cameo a few years ago for 600$ and passed on it absolutely hate myself for it.

I know people who did the same thing. Sadly. Lo,
I had to do some massaging to the air ducts in the dash to get the magnets to sit right on my Rockford Fosgate T142's. But I got them in!

Just a lil bigger magnet.
I feel your struggle with those dash speakers. About broke the plastic grill in my ext cab shoving it in with new speakers.
Nice S10 BROTHER

I replaced mine a while back a couple of the studs broke off mine
👍👍👍Keep those videos coming
4:49 if I’m replacing all 6 speakers in my 1995 Chevy s10 would I need 6 of the Metra speaker plugs ??
I would. Not a fan of cutting factory wires
Thanks for the videos. 👍
Did those kicker front speakers come with the adapter to plug into the factory harness?
No the adapters are Metra.

So how did you fix the problem were one speaker is louder than the other?
I eventually changed out the radio for another one.
I have an 1989 s10 also but I want put louder door speakers
I'm not a fan of cutting hole in doors and door panels. Id put them behind the vent if anything. But they'll just fire into the seat.
how well, how loud, and how durable are the speakers
Fine for a stock head unit. Distortion is what ruins speakers.
My factory radio did the same louder on one side. Never know there was a speaker wire adapter
Hey there boss I’m having the same problem with my radio, only have good sound on the right side. Did you got yours fix?

Maybe a heat gun? Get the corner hot and reform it a lil?
Where’d you get the speakers from?
Local stereo shop

Limited production truck, the first sport truck. I have $20k in a new ear drum, I know all about aftermarket stereos! Lol

Hooking them up to an amp makes them louder I just don’t get while radios only push out very low wattage especially with all the technology nowadays
Yes cameo was the first sport truck.. kinda a test to see how the market would react.
I prefer the stock radio looks in most if my trucks. The 89 will be era specific and still retain the alpine pullout cassette
Bro imma a radio God but my issue is trying what's the best looking rims to put on an 87 s15 extended cab
There are so many wheels.. i hate picking wheels. They either make or break the vehicle.
@@HardCoreGarage I know bro I'm having that problem now I got 15 in hurricane on my truck now but just trying to find something a lil more chrome
WHERE DID YOU BUY THOSE MIRRORS?
Factory power mirrors,91- up
I think 6 out of 8 studs were broken on my 84
Same with mine. I drilled a small hole in the center of what was left of the stud and put small screws with washers instead of buying a new cover lol
your other s10 was way better it jus needed a paint job
Which one? Lol
@@HardCoreGarage the one before this the extended cab
Its still looking good. Nick has done a great job making it his!
