Parents from Kargil district held a press conference urging the government to reopen winter hostels in the region. Of These hostels, which are crucial for underprivileged students, were closed following allegations made by a social activist concerning an incident involving a student and a teacher.
During the press conference, parents emphasized the importance of these hostels for providing accommodation and educational support to students, particularly those from economically weaker sections. They appealed to the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) and the district administration to address the issue promptly and resume hostel operations to ensure that students can continue benefiting from these essential facilities.
