We need more games like Concordia... no, I do not mean games with bad covers... no, I do not mean games set in the mediterranean... no, I do not mean games about resource trading... no, I do not mean beige boards 😅 I mean games with very simple rules but with huge depth, you know... like Concordia 🤣
PLEASE someone fix the red die cube in the top right corner behind Roy!! My OCD has reached its max! 😂😂 This is the 3rd or 4th video I've commented about it and it's still not fixed. Whoever is un charge of set design, please correct this 😉
Someone needs to explain to Jason the purpose of a personal Top 100 Games of All Time list. He convinced himself it shows some kind of lack of integrity to populate his list of favourite board games with his favourite board games, because he talked to the designer once during production or something.
@@DTWendy Pennsylvania is definitely my favorite. I enjoy the added scoring dimension of the stocks. But each has a nice element to it. For example, Big Cities provides variety, whereas in Europe you really need to use the tunnels to improve your score (initially I figured I would hang on to them for the scoring bonus). Thanks for asking!!
After watching so many of top 100 videos and getting a grasp of pretty much everyone's taste in games I decided not to watch them for a while but I'm making an exception to see Jason's picks and it breaks my heart to see everyone interrupting Jason all the time...@59:45 🥲
Oooohhh TTR Hogwarts! I don’t think the train makes stops though. And other countries have their own schools, eg Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But I guess jk rowling could always expand the Wizarding World.
I just dont get people living Blood Rage and I love area control, i like Ankh (though not my favourite, it was way more up my alley as a cross between typical area control and chess xd), I just dont know, everything in this game is "not the way it should" for me xd and I just dont get why its SO beloved. Everyone is entitled to like weird games and stuff but... The same "bad" game? Why? What am i missing xd
@@VaultBoy13 oh my God its such a great response and im not ironic. Yes you are right. I rated Terraforming Mars a 4/10 i believe, so that checks out. I wonder if there is a game out there that does what Blood Rage looks like it would be (idk if that makes sense) as in Viking bloodbath but not 80% euro
I think Aquatica is the most baffling highly rated game I’ve ever seen. My wife hated it. I just thought it was incredibly boring. It’s like a really crappy version of Abyss.
I didn't even teach it to my wife. I played a 2 handed learning game and said "nope" . I'd rather play Century: Spice Road or Concordia for the "play cards and pick them up" mechanism.
Jason failing to grok Roy's preference for theme over mechanisms is too funny to me. :D
Wow, such a great trio announcing #36 😉
Jason's love of board games is contagious
For the love of God, can SOMEBODY PLEASE upgrade and reprint St. Petersburg already? It worked so well for El Grande...
while at it better change the theme, russia isn't a popular thing at the moment
@@joeferreti9442 Oh come on.
@@joeferreti9442 Maybe they can move it to St. Petersburg, Florida?
Pretty sure Wizkids just did in the past couple years...
Hogwarts is a British school. Kids from around the rest of the world go to their respective school in their areas:
Nice to see Nexus Ops getting some love. The game is finally going to be on store shelves again this year.

Like hansa teutonica!!
Die Macher is my favorite 3.5 hour + game. So fun.
The "X" in Planet X isn't a Roman numeral (it predates the discovery of Pluto); more the algebraic meaning of an unknown.
9:56 Roy describing Die Macher to a tee
I'm with you on the (newer) Concordia cover Wendy
Time for a deluxe Ethnos!!!
Time for Archeos Society to release an expansion where the tracks provides relative scoring, hence making it Ethnos. At least in gameplay, not theme.
@@nshaw1299 they missed the mark with Archeos
Definitely a game I would like to deluxify.
@@Oaklestat
Mechanically it's almost the same game except the tracks don't give relative scoring. And that's easily fixable.
Earth doesn’t come close to replacing Terraforming Mars
Absolutely agree with you. And it will also never replace Ark Nova. Both Games are so much more than Earth.
Not sure why they can't coexist
It already did for a bunch of people 😉
Power Grid is still such a great game

Sorry Jason. The cards in Concordia are not a rondel.
Agreed!
Please someone else next year for Jason. One time is enough, it just doesn't work 😊
Jason Levine enjoys some of the most obscure games I have never heard of. It's always interesting to learn about previously unknown games... But Geez!
On this list, City of the Big Shoulders is the only game that’s even remotely obscure
Hell yeah Starship Samurai!!!! That game flopped so hard it went from $120 to like $20. Fantastic simple area control and faction influence.
Regarding Jason: do androids dream of old euro games?
No, I think they just wander aimlessly seeking constant validation with name drops.
"Is this the first game on BGG?"
It is actually 😊
I don't understand the love for aquatica, its ok.
I wanna see Jason recommend more super dry old obscure boring looking euro games to Roy.
For the record: "Earth" does not the same thing as "Terraforming Mars".
And I hate the "Puerto Rico"-mechanic.
agreed. completely different planets

Agree with Wendy regarding Ticket to Ride - especially the app is awesome AND I like the added dimension of Pennsylvania!
Is Pennsylvania your favorite, or do you have a different map you love more?

It could be like a magnet school. No requirement to attend your zoned school.
We need an Arkham Horror The Card Game marathon where all the expansions are played.
Wow lol, how many weeks of screen time would that be?

It's Terraforming Mars with combat and player interaction. That's why people love it.

Equalizing the audio (eg: #39) with these guest clips would be great.
