Updated the Cors 3.0.0 today morning and everything went fine. The update is a 3 stage process and reboots after each phase. The entire process took 20 minutes and sometimes, it might seem like the update is stuck but be patient and it will go through! Happy updating. The new update sounds really cool and gives so many new options. The OctoFuzz is amazing and there are so many I need to still try out ! Cant wait for the weekend
I would love to see this also, or also footswitch triggerable "slide to value" type features as well. Any sort of advanced modulation options like synth boxes have.
really happy with everything and I just have to say the circular delay is sort of the unsung hero of this update. immediately replaced the delay on a couple of my live presets. very grateful for all the work Neural DSP does, this is going to be a fun week for me.
I absolutely love it. Such an exciting update. You guys are truly awesome! When the other companies drop such a complex promises in favor of some quick wins, Neural DSP spent years to probably re-do the whole CorOS to make it possible and keep the word!
Thanks for the great video, John. It was really useful in understanding some of the new devices. As a bass player I especially like that new Gojira Octave device. Another person said that it has the classic OC-2 vibe (awesome for bass) and I agree. Hands down the best octave for bass on the QC.
What does the sidechain in the Doubler devices do? Also: please add more scale options for the pitch correction device (e.g. harmonic minor) and preferably custom scales too. It would allow so much more creative craziness!
Can someone explain the difference between the Plugin Gate on each plugin versus the built-in gate on the input block or the separate gate blocks already in the QC. Why would I choose one over the other and why add a plugin gate or any gate as the first block when it’s built into the input block? Isn’t that just a wasted block and extra CPU usage? Just wondering.
The input gate is the adaptive gate, i'm pretty sure. But the simple gate that comes with the QC feels different to me compared to the gate in the plugins (most likely fixed attack, release, and hold settings, just dumbed down to one control)
Can't speak on how/why plugin gates are different - but there's plenty of instances where you'd want a gate not at the start of your chain. For instance, if you have a high gain set up where the OD pedal going into the amp is too hot for quick stop style of playing - you'd add a gate after the OD.
Thats insane!! Great presentation as always. I have a question tho why would you need 2 of the same device if you can just press and hold the device's settings and custom them for the scene you want and when you change scene it goes back to normal settings? Also whats the different of the transpose vs pitch shifter block? Is the tracking better?
The update is sick! But I hope at some point they figure out how to make the pitch shift/transpose tuning up sound better. Even going up only a step makes some weird artifact sounds which is a big bummer.
Thanks for the deep dive! If anyone has run into a good solid video on tips for building consistent presets I would appreciate the help. As far as levels when trying to mix clean/dirty or multiple amps and changing scenes within a preset to a whole new preset altogether. I’ve noticed from a lot of captures and presets I’ve gotten from cortex cloud that even staff picks are inconsistent. If we can get together as a quad cortex community and agree on some basic preset etiquette I think it would be awesome for quickly reworking each others stuff. I’m always putting new presets on zero volume and checking gain levels. So many have clipping. I appreciate the shares as always but i want to imagine a future where I type in a song, band or album and if I find something highly rated it’s got some merit behind that rating because it passed some preset basics like gain staging, clear scene organization, clear description on special preset uses.
What I don't yet understand about sidechaining is: What is the advantage of having the gate at the end of the chain, but using the DI input signal compared to just putting a gate at the start of the chain?
Any tips on transpose for bass? Been getting weird artifacts I also have it after my compressor like I’ve read online to do. Just trying to get a half step down.
Is there a difference in dsp between plugin amps and stock amp models? For example, how is the Soldano amp model going to be different from the Soldano X plugin when it becomes available on QC?
You can set the input levels for each of the inputs. I have my strat and single coils for input one and Les Paul into input two and I have them set at different inputs to take into account the different pickup outputs
@DarrenRosePhotography I guess I haven't thought of that way. Would be nice to not have to unplug it on the device as I run wireless. But pick what's more important, so I'll try that
Yes - the updates are all software, and the Unit has not changed from the start. It is a great unit, and the updates keep making it better and better. Highly recommend.
Qual o benefício de trabalhar com o botão de volume no máximo ? Uso sempre em 50%. Mas vejo alguns reviews da galera usando o volume praticamente no máximo. Alguém sabe o porque?
All I hope for is more MIDI capabilities for QC 🧪 custom outgoing midi messages, like momentary messages, and the ultimate -- using QC as a Synthesizer device using midi IN with a midi controller. Then it will be a beast 🔥
Most of my presets use 3 different amps and scenes to go from clean to crunch to heavy to lead. So I think doing that with the plugin blocks should be doable, especially if you are only aiming for clean to heavy. It’s all a matter of balancing how you using the top 2 and bottom 2 rows, you can always route to the bottom after maxing out the top to squeeze in an extra amp if need.
13:28 I literally racked my brain for 30min straight trying to remember what song this was! It’s Letter From Home by Pat Metheny Group in case you were wondering.

you do realize that you have the amps from those 2 plugins already in cortex, right ? @@randalljax When did they add the Shiva as a model in the QC? And are all the plugin effects the ones in the QC? I really doubt it. I know we don't have a shimmer reverb. And my main issue is the fact that they've put so much dev time in the last year+ for things that aren't available to ALL qc owners. We haven't got any devices in almost a year.

12:15 That 1979 sounds incredible. You have great touch on the fretboard
This looks awesome. I’d love an LFO to be added as a utility which can be mapped to control one of the settings
Really just a few steps away from becoming a modular synth at this point. And I'm all for it.

Counting down the minutes!!! Let’s go!!!!
Digital John with another exceptional instructive video. Great stuff
Great throwback with that intro tune!
This is the music nerd equivalent to reading the instruction booklet of the video game you just bought on your way home from K-Mart in 2002.
That is EXACTLY the reason we do this
The custom preset uploading is the only thing I am waiting on now, I have spent 10s of hours custom building perfect settings for it
Looking forward to he Morgan plugin!
Everything went smoothly. plini sounds amazing. Transpose is much faster than pitch shift. Great work, love it

now all that remains is to do a version of Darude - Sandstorm =) , killer playing as always 🙌

Please add momentary switches next like on the digitech whammy 😁
Video opens with Children by Robert Miles. Oh yeah I'm watching the whole video now.
Right? Been ages since I've heard that - and didn't realize it was possible to play on a guitar. Kudos.
this is a monster update
This update is gonna be huge!

Incredible! Can’t wait to upgrade my QC.
What a time to be alive!
Monster update 🔥
Great Video! Could be nice to have same tutorial videos for the previous effects from the previous versions of Coros :)
Transpose feature seems a lot cleaner than using the pitch shift to transpose
unless you want to go up a step =\
