True but We as the audience would have seen beckett in a negative light if anything happened as later on in the seasons when she got with Castle he too would have had infidelity concerns and personal I would like to think that if Something had happened beckett would have immediately Broken up with Josh coz I don't believe she is the cheating type

Because the important thing is that i think she stopped fighting her feelings for him for a minute there and decided to open the door and then when he wasn't there she was bummed out. Seriously, Beckett needs to just admit her feelings and stop fighting them... Can't wait for season 4 =)

I love the intensity in the scene. Yes she has a boyfriend, and she doesn't love him. Here she is in a hotel room with the man of her dreams, sitting so close to him on the couch. The only thing stopping her is knowing she has a boyfriend. But the way they looked at each other, these two are head over heels. Any longer and the wouldn't be able to hold back. I did want them to "go there" but im glad they didn't because she would be a cheater.
Bingo. It also reflects positively on Castle. He had nothing to lose because he wasn't with Gina anymore, but he didn't want to put Beckett in a situation where she would have slept with him while still with Josh.
