I agree with you that anyone can identify as whatever gender they choose, but, just as they have the perfect liberty to make that choice for themselves, others have the liberty to express their own values and opinions. No one should be forced to acknowledge or address someone else according to an adopted identity, much less compromise the privacy and safety of someone to accommodate your feelings or validate your life choices. If someone is choosing to change their gender identity, they need to be aware that there are many people who will still address them according to their biological features... and that is not wrong or offensive... it is biology. There will also be many people who do not believe in this type of augmentation. They are not terrible people. They just don’t believe the same things you do. Their liberty is equally important. Their opinions are equally valid. No need for a huge conflict... agree to disagree and each person can go their own way.
