Great discussion. Loved the discussion of the "special use case" with the wheelchair. How Bob was able to pass the wheelchair across him and into the passenger seat was awesome. I suspect that people will be finding out how well the Aptera handles all kinds of special use cases -- like 9 ft oars.
Great interview and perspective from Bob. I am also 64 and rehabbing from a recent ankle fracture. I have a stick shift and won't be cleared to drive it for some time. Getting around and out/in for Uber trips is much more of a challenge than it would have been 20 years ago, and that is the ability to hop on one leg. . I've contemplated how I'll get to my vehicle and get my wheel chair in and out at that stage of my recovery. Due to a equilibrium issue I also started riding a recumbent trike. Unfortunately I broke my ankle on it (I need to put a safe pedal system on it before riding it again.) I was hoping that Aptera was going to add the trailer hitch option so that I could pull the trike on a light weight bike trailer. It might fit in the back if I put it in rear wheel first and remove the front wheels but it would be a pain. Roof top mounting on the Aptera seems unlikely. Switching to a folding trike might be an option. It might fit behind the seats.
Bob, thanks for your fantastic views on Aptera and taking the time to share them with us!! David H. thanks for connecting Bob and his wife with DTL to make this possible. Great interview and material Chad.
Great video! Love the different perspectives that are shared on here. Chad, I feel you! I do the same! I don't make time to exercise. I got a balance board to help get in shape....😂
Thanks Chad and BOB..For Sharing! Bob, If you are not active in the Aptera website community , perhaps starting a thread about modifications, like grab bar and more… will be helpful for others. Aptera has Right to Repair… why not Right to Modify!
It's 9/25/24. Looking forward to Friday's September update wherein that 11/23 promise "PI's completed in the first few months of next year" finally becomes true. Aptera has an awesome/admirable little cult fold, but some validation of the vehicle would be great.

@@garywozniak7742 thank you for sharing your story.
Great surprise guest, but not a surprise that the Aptera attracts glider pilots!
True!! Thank you! Bob is amazing
The Aptera EV seems like a nice vehicle. I think a price above $30,000.00 is high.
thank you. Should be interesting to see where it lands.
Great conversation, nice guy. Good to know that Adam and I ( his Mom) can take a road trip. The Corvette road trip was a little rough.
😁
And now you know Bob!
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thank you!!!!!
Great interview! Bob and his wife were so cool to talk with !
They are amazing! Thank you David!!
@@dtl and you delivered another great interview! And I think we all learned some new things!
@@david.e.h. you are too kind Dave!
Great interview Chad! Hit all the right points. Good work!
Thank you Russ!!!
Well Done. D/T/L! A future update-- how he does the hand control conversion in the Aptera
That will be great to learn!
Thanks for your enthusiasm Bob! Can't wait to see you guys on the road. Great interview, Chad. Thanks to you both
Thank you for the comment Bob is awesome

We can do it!! I keep trying

Cool idea!!
I have yet to actually see an Aptera car.
I can understand why that event in SF was a hit!
Thanks Chad. 🫡
Rick!!!! That's crazy. Let's go to Carlsbad. I'll text you when Sarah and are going and you and Faith should come with us.
I'd certainly love to see one in person!!!!
Oh that is good to hear they plan to add a grab handle. I am not first on the list as I am expecting mine in late 2026
We agree.
Great interview!
I agree with the need for one handle on each side to help some getting out.
Yes, I agree
Thank you!
Me too
Bob being so active should be an inspiration to us all, Chad. Good job interviewing him. Thanks to Bob for his insights. Good stuff
I'm inspired!!
Love Bob!❤
Great guy!
Good stuff Bob! Thank you for your perspective
He is a great example of the Aptera attitude!
I hope he writes up a good review for his publication.
That would be awesome!
Great conversation from a different perspective
Thank you Calvin!
Bob, you and Sarah rock🪨! Thanks.
😁
This was such a great video!
Thank you James!!!!!
I had never given thought to how someone in a wheelchair might take to Aptera, but it is good to know that it is good for that too.
Same here! I thought about storing a wheelchair but never how a driver could transfer into the Aptera from a chair.
Very interesting insight!
Agreed

Aptera has an awesome/admirable little cult fold, but some validation of the vehicle would be great.
It would! Thank you
How do you drive, being a paraplegic? That’s a pretty inspiring story.
Hand controls. Its a cool set up!
@@dtl Nice!
@@dtl Last I checked, Aptera is driven by a "gas" pedal operated by the foot.
@@adimchionyenadum2962 right but hand controls are how folks that can't use their leggs drive. Bob's Aptera will be easily retrofitted.
Chad, please keep in mind many of us have dogs that FREAK when a door bell sound effect is thrown in....
Sorry!!!! I'll avoid that in the future.
Yeah, that's my ringtone on my smartphone. Had to stop and check it!
@@billmanewal1786 oh boy!
They will never deliver one car to anyone
Yes they will!
