Montevideo, Uruguay Night Walk (4K)

- I filmed this walking tour on June 24th at around 10:00 PM. This walk starts in Plaza de la Constitución in Ciudad Vieja. From there, I walk down Sarandí toward Plaza Plaza Independencia. I then follow Avenida 18 de Julio to the Muinicipal Administracion Office (Intendencia de Montevideo). This is a distance of around 1 mile or 1.7 km.
On this walk, we'll see a number of Montevideo landmarks including:
-Montevideo Metropolitan Cathedral (Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción y San Felipe y Santiago de Montevideo)
-Plaza de la Constución
-Plaza Independencia
-Palacio Salvo
-Gateway of the Citadel (Puerta de la Ciudadela)
-Plaza Juan Pedro Fabini
-Plaza De Cagancha
-Intendencia de Montevideo
-Monumento al Gaucho
-And more
We'll also pass by plenty of restaurants, bars, kiosks, markets, theaters, bookstores, street stands, and more. This is one of the liveliest parts of the city. We'll pass by plenty of ordinary Uruguayan people enjoying their evening in the capital city.
I visited Uruguay during the winter. When I took this walk, it was about 45℉ or 7℃. It was a chilly night. I tried to walk around some of the busiest parts of the city. During this time of night, Avenida 18 de Julio was pretty active. When I walked off the main street, many of the streets were empty and dark.

Yeah, I never felt in any danger there. I agree about the graffiti. There was some cool artwork but a lot of it was an eyesore.

Por lo que dice la descripción fue grabado en la noche de un domingo, por eso había poca gente, si se graba la noche de un viernes tendria algo mas de movimiento.

Yeah, it was a bit eerie. This was during the dead of winter so it was pretty cold out. Not many people around.
wow guys you really make me cry...I mean it !!!!...For real I born there and use to live there in Julio Herrera an Obes...and I'm a musician and I use to play every single nigth in Victoria Plaza Hotel ,after that I'm playing in a night Club ...called " Bonanza" around the block and I do that for so many years then with friends I use to go to dancing in the square La plaza del Entrevero across the street a place named " Sunset " woww then also we finish in the18 de Julio and EJIDO street in the Bowling until is day time and we was going to esta something before sleep at 7 am hahaha chicken Parmigiana ,with Russian salad hahahaha woww. what an animals hahahaha and with the full stomach start to walk and go home so I'm going to sleep around 9 in the morning from a nigth before hahahahah what an amazing LIFE ..well guys Today I living in the City that never sleep ...New York babe !!!! thanks to the LORD Jesus ,,,I'm still playing music ,I'm a film composer !!!even I'm living in Long Island !!! I I'm visiting the City because my music work is there ... and don't forget GOD is good ...so GOD BLESS MY COUNTRY URUGUAY !! and GOD bless you all....

The lighting was okay downtown. There were some dark places. The camera I used isn't great for filming at night
For me at night It looks a little bit dark and deserted city, perhaps it's dangerous. Any hight activities? Entertainments?

Yeah, I'm not much of a partier. I think if you want to party, you're better off going to Buenos Aires. Montevideo is a better place to relax it seems.

Soy de México y me gustó más Montevideo se ve más tranquilo no hay mucho ruido puedes ir a la calle tranquilamente de noche en México es imposible eso
El Centro de Buenos Aires tiene zonas muy ricas, como la Recoleta o Puerto Madero etc. el Centro de Montevideo no es una zona rica, solo es una zona comercial, las zonas ricas estan en otras partes de la ciudad, la comparacion no es justa.
Buenos Aires parece Europa en unas partes, Ciudad de Panama en otras partes con esas torres finitas y altas inexistentes en el viejo continente, y se parece a Lima o Rio de Janeiro en otras partes con esas villas/favelas construidas de ladrillos en altura que aparecen de repente en el medio del casco urbano de la ciudad y eso que no estoy hablando del Conourbano...
Montevideo parece Corea del Norte, tranquilo pero le pusieron a ciudad unos focos de luces mas bajos que le da un aire casi angustiante y depremido. Algunas calles en distintos barrios parece una boca de lobos horrible como para bajar el animo de las personas. Entre el frio y esas lucesitas bajas se siente mas deprimente. Esa es la verdad!!!
Si Montevideo es deprimente entonces quiero deprimirme seguido 😍
Porque tiene .muchos árboles, y el arbolado genera sombra. Vos en el microcentro tenes 4 árboles, x eso tenes luz. No te da la capocha.
"Angustiante"; "Deprimida", "Animo bajo"', por diossss mujer trata de observar la ciudad donde vivis con otros ojos, Tanta amargura te esta matando, esa no es "la verdad", esa es tu percepcion, yo vivo en Montevideo y amo caminar por la ciudad en invierno, es mi segunda epoca favorita, despues del otoño, incomparable con la explosion de colores propia de la epoca, La patina que adquiere la ciudad en la estacion mas fria es hermosa, sobre todo los dias soleados y helados, con ese cielo turquesa incomparable, cuando sopla el pampero.
Aunque los dias grises tambien tiene su encanto!

Me llama poderosamente la atención algo...cada video de Uruguay una sarta de porteños resentidos k criticando ya no es casualidad, se nota que es constante, lo que les han hecho los gobiernos K...envidia artera y pura dan lástima ya.
