Hi Washingtonian Neighbor! I actually almost started crying in my local library today. Right inside the front door was a long table full of clipboards, and on each clipboard was a sign-up sheet for a different skill we can teach or service we can offer to the community. People with gardens or "Pea Patch" allotments are pledging "Food, Not Flowers for 2025" and a group of local master gardeners plan to hold how-to classes on vegetable gardening at the senior center this winter, so when spring planting season rolls around we'll hopefully all have improved our skills and be able to contribute in bulk to the food bank. There was a lot of grief and despair in the first days after the election but it seems as if that's being replaced by a new spirit of fierceness.

Still struggling with this period of time due to the risks to people that I love & the impacts to all of us. I actually almost started crying in my local library today. Right inside the front door was a long table full of clipboards, and on each clipboard was a sign-up sheet for a different skill we can teach or service we can offer to the community. People with gardens or "Pea Patch" allotments are pledging "Food, Not Flowers for 2025" and a group of local master gardeners plan to hold how-to classes on vegetable gardening at the senior center this winter, so when spring planting season rolls around we'll hopefully all have improved our skills and be able to contribute in bulk to the food bank. There was a lot of grief and despair in the first days after the election but it seems as if that's being replaced by a new spirit of fierceness.
Oh yes, I just wanted to thank you again for the lovely trip that you took us on. we all needed that after this horrible election

I have prayed for so many things in my life and at my heart I know that not only have I never had one come true nor have I ever seen a miracle happen so I am not going to pray nor am I going to think their will be some kind of miracle because I believe that everything happening is simply because there is a lack of education and people being paid off. The citizens will suffer and the wealthy and govt officials who allowed this to happen will never care because they are being paid to let this happen. I have no faith in this government or country anymore nor will I ever again even though my family spent 20yrs in service to this country and this is the thank you we get I guess we get what we deserve and this is what the citizens think we deserve to live in hell. So thank you for my reality check because I was starting to believe the people were starting to come together. Reality check number too high to even conceive to most people and I am so happy for it because I was starting to believe there was good in the world
I ve been stocking up on staples. Christmas is going to be pared down too. I'm not panicked or freaking out either but just being wiser about purchases overall and economic warnings being stated. Thank you for your candor and telling us. Also our out of state kids are not coming for Thanksgiving this year along with other relatives but only coming for Christmas. Everyone is feeling it too.

Still struggling with this period of time due to the risks to people that I love & the impacts to all of us. I am still not willing to accept that so many people voted to take their tiki torches to the democracy. Way too many people voted against their own interests in order to just be spiteful. Praying that the recounts have a positive effect. And that more is revealed and changes the outcome.
