Just finished my shirt and I love it. My squares came out a little smaller, which worked out for my size and I added 10 more stitches to the straps. Also, to cut the fringe quickly, I wrapped my yarn around a thick dvd case, slid it off and cut one end. Saved me a lot of time. Thank you for the tutorial.
This video inspired me to make my first top I started 1 day ago, just finished all the squares. Can't wait to join everything together, I used tan and cosmetic.
Thank you so much for this. Really made all the difference having step by step like this. I have actually finished my first top and it’s gorgeous! Can I please ask how I could make it bigger? Should I do extra rounds or should I make extra squares? I’d be so grateful 🙏🏻 for your advice.
Thank you for this great tutorial😍I've finished my first square and am trying to decide what to do with it other than festival top. I think it would make a beautiful vest or a bag💕💕💕
Love your tutorial, the written explanations also are a great help, when I'm not sure about each row count. I got an issue, either I do it too lose, or I don't have the same type of yarn, my square is a bit larger than yours. Also yours looks stiff, when mine are soft/lose. Sounds like I have to do it over again, or it will look like a mop 😢😢
Just finished my squares. I do like that in the video, row 5, you end the row (46:37) with a slip stitch IN the corner ch 5 loop. Your written pattern however says to" join to bottom of first ch 5" which I did before watching video and I do like this better as the transition to the next row of (ch 3, dc...) lays better when you sl st in the loop as opposed to the bottom of the chain.
OMGEE!😱🥰😍 here comes another WIP! I am in love with this, it’s Gorgeous! 👏 Awesome Work! Appreciate your tutorials, thanks soo much for sharing this video with all of us subscribers 💖✅👀 I just bought a whole bunch of Comfy Cotton! So happy I now have plans for them!👌👀🧐✨👊💖
i love the tutorial. I bought the pattern on Ravelry and on Ravelry beside the pattern it seems to recommend "CARON" simply soft, which I bought, but when I began the pattern, you use cotton so I will be returning the Caron. I think the Ravelry site sidebar is confusing to recommend Simply Soft acrylic and yet the pattern states 100% cotton.
I love this so much! I just completed 7 squares but measuring cross, doesn’t seem to be enough to fit me even after adding another row of double crochets. Would adding an additional 2 squares work? Or should I add another row of double crochets around each square?
Making it now. But I wish you would have put it on a model. Or shown how you style it. I’m making my to wear to the airport. No idea what I’ll wear it with yet
Hi I think your top is lovely I’m in the U.K. I’ve bought some lion brand 247 cotton but it doesn’t look as thick as yours I bought some yday but it was like cotton you sew a button on with so dissappointed it’s says this one I have now is worsted weight but it doesn’t look like yours yours looks thicker look forward to hearing from you x
Tried to register to ask a question about sizing but not getting access - given I’m 6” taller than you and have a 4-5” larger bust size, I think my squares should be larger. You suggest adding a row or two…So does that mean I double crochet around the entire square - what about the corner loop - do I do one dc in the loop or make another loop by chaining 3…???

Awesome!
Your demonstration is so clear. Thank you for sharing.😊
Thank you so much!
I can see black being an awesome contrast colour for the straps and outline of the top!
Yes! That would be so pretty!
Wow. This is the best tutorial I have ever seen in my life. Subscribed.
Wow, thanks!
This video inspired me to make my first top
I started 1 day ago, just finished all the squares. Can't wait to join everything together, I used tan and cosmetic.
Awesome!! Great job!
Thanks so much for your detailed instructions. Finally I made it after 3 days. Very cute top!!!
Yay! Thank you so much!!

Hi! To make it larger, I would add extra rounds to each square :)
Thank you for this great tutorial😍I've finished my first square and am trying to decide what to do with it other than festival top. I think it would make a beautiful vest or a bag💕💕💕
And I would definitely make a tank top for my daughter😊
That would be so pretty!

Hi! My guess is that you crochet looser than I do. You can go down a hook size :)
Thanx for such a detail explaination of this pattern
Thank you!
This is a very good tutorial. Thanks.
Thank you!
Gorgeous top! What size top does this tutorial make, please? And how can I make it bigger, if need?
Hi! You can add an addition round to each square to make it larger :)
Love your tutorial!! Easy to follow & I'm almost done with mine, but made for my Grandaughter!!
Wonderful!
so beautiful thank so much for sharing ❤😍🙏🏼
Thank you!

I used that yarn in the original pattern. I updated it with cotton. Updated Ravelry. But any worsted weight yarn would work (acrylic or cotton)
@@HookedOnHomemadeHappiness thank you
Magnifique !
Great tutorial! 😊
So pretty! I cannot wait to make it❤😍
Hope you like it!

Beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you for a great video.
So pretty.
I love this ❤ thank you
It's a bit open for me, would a smaller hook improve that? You are a good teacher
Thank you! Yes, a smaller hook might help.
I love love love this top ❤ But Im too self conscious to wear shorter tops. Is there anyway you could suggest to make it a little longer?
Thank you! You can add an additional row of squares 😊
I wear things like this over a white shirt or T-shirt 😀
Is a size small 6 or 7 inches per granny square. Is 8 inches really big? I’m looking for a size for a person 5’6” of average build
It would add some width to the bust measurement. You can go down a hook size if your squares are coming out too big.
Making it now. But I wish you would have put it on a model. Or shown how you style it. I’m making my to wear to the airport. No idea what I’ll wear it with yet
Skirt, shorts, Jean's and a bralette underneath 😊

Hi! Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton should work just fine :)
Thank you so much xx
How do you determine how big to make your squares?
Hi! Wondering if I make 8 squares, can I have the back be the same as the front?
Hi! I think that would work. Are you planning on sewing it all the way around? I don't think a button closure would work like that :)
@@HookedOnHomemadeHappiness Thanks so much for your quick reply! I will sew it all the way around and skip the button.
What if I wanted to use a number 2 cotton yarn?
Hi! It would come out much smaller :)
To make this larger, you said to add a row of double crochet after the last row. Do I just repeat the last row with the chain 3 in the corners?
Yes :)
Now would like to make a skirt!!

Hi! The final round of the square is all dc. So you can dc in each stitch across with (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in each corner ch-3 space
❤
Thank you x
What measurement is each square
Approx 6"
What size is this yarn?
worsted weight (4)
I keep ending up with 13 treble crochet clusters.. how? 🙃
Top 💚💚💚💚❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can i sell items made from this pattern if i was to tag designer ❤
Yes :)
