    Brian was a great guest to have. I enjoyed hearing his answers with sharing his experiences even beyond the Fisker Ocean. His EV journey was cool. I would enjoy having him on again occasionally (qrtly? or significant changes to say how the Fisker is doing).
    Thanks for the video.

    I own a Fisker Ocean One and am a shareholder as well. Brian's impressions and experience roughly mirror my own. There is a lot to love about the vehicles, but the FOB is highly frustrating. All Fisker needs to do is fix a few issues and deliver a few missing features to have a very strong offering that I would gladly recommend to anyone.

    Have watched all of Brian's videos, as well as Alash's- Had no idea that he had such an experience. As a fellow Fisker One owner (4911/5000), I must mention that my experience has been extremely smooth. I have not had any issues, and Fisker customer service has been the best of any vehicle manufacturer I have ever had (Tesla -2023 X Plaid-, BMW -E92 M3-, Ford -various Mustangs-, GMC -Sierra Denali-).
    I know Fisker will take care of Brian, and there are some stories out there similar to Brian's experience; I would also like to note that just as many of those type of experiences so far, I know 3 other Fisker owners who have had perfect experiences for the last 2.5 months. The ride, quietness on highway, and drive train mapping is the best of any EV and top 3 of any vehicle I've ever driven.

    Great interview and I really appreciate Brian's honest perspectives. I have an order for a Fisker Ocean Ultra which just arrived at the port. Eyes are wide open and I can't wait to drive it. I too remain cautiously optimistic as I see a huge opportunity with the company design, mission and platforms in the Ocean, Alaska and Pear.

    Like this gentleman I was an early reservation holder and also converted that reservation to an order for tax purposes. However after driving the Fisker at an event, My wife and I decided not to go forward with the process. I hated the shape of the steering wheel and the way it felt. I've gotten so accustomed to one pedal driving, that I don't want to go back. In oddly enough the biggest gripe from my wife is that it had no frunk which she surprisingly uses a lot in her Tesla. That being said we both prefer the look of the Fisker and some of its options we just felt it would have been a compromise

    As a new EV owner myself (ID.4), I love to hear about other EV owners to hear their experiences and the quirks they may have. This was absolutely great to hear! Sounds like typical first year issues and with it being a new company as well, to be expected, but also should be handled accordingly.

    This was a great interview. Software is really hard, and it doesn't surprise me it's a stumbling block for many vehicles from start ups and legacy manufacturers.

    • @tribalypredisposed
      @tribalypredisposed Год назад +3

      Fisker has more problems than most for multiple reasons. First, Henrik Fisker is legacy, unlike most or all other EV startup CEOs, he has no tech background. His first startup had a UI so laggy that owners were literally breaking the touchscreen trying to get a response. And the company that bought the Fisker Automotive spent two years rewriting the UI, so it was nowhere near being ready when Fisker Automotive started selling cars. Second, in an environment where good software programmers can find a new job immediately with a single email, Fisker hired a bunch of programmers who were unemployed after his SPAC windfall allowed him to turn his nine person scam of a company into a going concern. Those programmers were unemployed because they suck, so I don’t think anyone should expect them to create a decent ADAS program, ever.

      Yes. GM shot themselves in the foot with the Blazer EV software cofveve. That was solely motivated by greed.
      They could've stuck with the proven, battle tested Android auto, but they salivated at the idea of milking customers of monthly subscription coins, and now they're paying darely. Hopefully Fisker can snag a couple of their customers.

    I am a One owner since August, think Brian gave a very well balanced view of the current situation. I would like to add that Fisker has improved their communication in a mayor way, it is far from perfect, but now you can get them to respond and get issues fixed in the workshop, at least in Denmark. They have also started onsite gatherings and webinars covering the coming software updates.
    Thanks for the video.
    Really look forward to your test of the Fisker Ocean.

    I pointed out many times before deliveries started that Fisker was NOT properly testing their car. Yeah, Fisker released video of testing, but there were literally zero photos or videos of Fisker Ocean in the wild being tested from regular people. And only weeks before Fisker started deliveries, to much fanfare, Henrik Fisker got the first Ocean delivered to North America. So clearly zero testing of compatibility with North American chargers.

    To the point being made about the software stack around 36:00, in Fisker's defense, not having the vertical integration of Tesla, they are at the mercy of their vendors in a lot of cases. Making a grab bag of different parts work together can be challenging. Even a company like Ford is at their mercy in a lot of cases.

    Anyone can make a vehicle charge quickly, it's mostly a matter of how much risk they want to take on in terms of battery longevity and I suppose even fire, without reams of data to justify that risk. The more desperate a manufacturer is for consumer acceptance, the more likely they are to push the boundaries in terms of early battery failures. I think second and third tier EV makers, like Fisker, probably look at the charge curves implemented by higher volume manufacturers and simply try to replicate that (or add a touch more if they're feeling daring). It's likely they are mostly flying blind because they don't have the resources or the data to support their decisions.

    Don't know what to make of Brian. On the one hand it's great that he is honest and wants the problems fixed but on the other he does come over as a bit "candid". Surely he didn't need to mention the missing panel. That makes the company look really bad. And that sounds more like bad quality control from Magna than really an error from Fisker.
    IMO Fisker should address public criticism like that immediately. First check if everything is true and if it is publicly offer some compensation to Brian.

    Thanks BrianG for representing the FOO fairly. In its current iteration, it’s definitely not for everyone. It has many quirks and software issues, but the Magna build quality definitely shines through. I’ve had my own issues mostly centered about the 12v battery and the related software issues. Hopefully they can weather the storm of this initial roll out and survive to get the Alaska and Pear to market. I agree that they need to be more transparent to their customers. Fisker needs to do right by anyone with issues resulting from the car not being ready, I.e., do right by their guinea pigs.
    That being said, are we really supposed to have lit footwells in the front? If so, time to start another service ticket.

    Polestar / Volvo delayed their new SPA2 platform for this exact reason…. It wasn’t ready!!!! Fisker should have looked for additional funding, and tried to delay for whatever they could. 6 months to a year was needed to fine tune. But they chose to put the stress on their customers. Which is just horrible. I would be so upset if I were one of these people. You wait all this time for the vehicle. You’re so excited. Then it’s problem after problem. It’s really bad

But once I dug DEEPER I said there’s zero % chance I’m taking a risk on this new company, that doesn’t even make their own vehicles. That’s just insane. They will have so many problems fixing issues. How do you fix the vehicle line when it’s not your own plant? It’s going to take forever. And fisker doesn’t have time. They will be bankrupt within 6 months. I feel bad for people like this Brian dude. I would try and sell this NOW. Even if you take a bit of a loss, it’s better to lose a little now. Then lose everything when they go bankrupt. Nobody should buy the disappointing Fisker over the awesome EV9. But even before the EV9 was available there is a problem with this. Why do people value looks of an EV over stats and test results? The Ocean One cost at least 70k and its interior is still carved out of cheap plastic, is does not have modern driver assistance or autonomous driving hardware, the infotainment software is buggy and many functions are missing, no one-pedal driving, slow max. 175kW charging power (for a 115kWh total capacity battery), and the range is 30% lower than advertised due to the aerodynamics but more importantly due to bad drivetrain efficiency...

    • @briangilgeous8566
      @briangilgeous8566 Год назад +4

      Ocean & EV9 are obviously different classes of vehicles that shouldn’t be cross-shopped. That said Fisker’s focus on & use of sustainable materials is attractive to some if not many. Ocean EPA certified range is class leading at 360 miles, and DCFC limit is ample at 200kW. Early in EV launch it is common for manufacturers to limit charging speeds until they capture enough real world data. Charging is not a major concern w/ Ocean.
