for anyone using Davinci Resolve, this is far superior to the current only other audio responsive effect that I know of which is Reactor, which lacks many settings for control. Exporting the audio from any given clip or selection is not even bad, you can export audio within a second lol I am excited to try this out for sure
That's quite a clunky workflow to have to export your timeline audio out of your host to use it. Are there any plans to get it working with timeline audio directly? Presumably if you reference an external audio source, then change your cut, your effect is no longer in sync without re-exporting. Would certainly be nice to say - just use A1 & A2 as your source etc.
Some hosts are a bit more reticent to share their audio playback with plugins, so we have to go a more circuitous route. Beat Reactor in After Effects works exactly how you want it to, and how we would ideally have it across all hosts.
Im having trouble choosing a workflow. If I have a whole song on the timeline and im editing my clips to the beat and I just want to apply the beat reactor to a clip in the timeline, do I have to find the part of the song that's underneath and cut and export that bit of the song so I can use just that part of the song that's underneath the clip where it says select audio?
Hey @UrdazFilms what host are you using? If inside Premiere Pro you would want to mark the section of audio you'd like to use and export in a supported format (ie: aif) You would then use the select audio button and navigate to where you saved it.

Can you use Beat Reactor in DaVinci Resolve? If yes, can you make a video on how that looks and works on that platform?
