Hey, nice job on the LED install. The new instrument cluster looks great. Did you need to replace the flasher relays or did these LEDs work with the stock flashers?
Dang, so the design to access for removal of the bulbs is from the backside, after removing the whole gauge cluster panel Presuming this applies also to a '82F100 which has the lineup of the 5 bulbs above, below the dashpad (easy to remove to access+remove the initial gauge cover) lip. :-]
So Blue is fine for ya ? Not LEDs ? Ask that as there has been recent local news articles where led streetlight bulbs are showing they are defective showing blue vs 'white', which are claimed to affect peoples vision while cruising thru their output field !
If you do not remove those 2 blue filters the sparkle will be green or ice blue, let me explain: - If you put pure white LED it will be ice blue - If you put warm white LED it will be factory green. As you can see those filters help to modify the sparkle color.
Love the view when you first start the video out. Can you make cold starts of everything carbureted including this F100 with that view? Would be so cool to see the startup procedure. Subscribed!
I think since back in the day their were only regular bulbs they had to come up with that blue shell for it to give a greenish light once the yellow(regular) light passed thru them. Hence why you dont need those shells anymore.
Doing this on my dad's old Ford Econoline from the 80's.Great video and great tutorial! Subbed!
Truck sounded Great today!!
Pretty nice I am working on my 79 f150. Got to work on my instrument panel.

What’s the purpose of taking the 2 blue plastics out

So basically if you just want to change your background color you just swap out the two inner bulbs???
? Does the dimmer still work
He didn't say why the blue shells are removed
i think because he is putting the blue color light bulb
