I would suggest A, E and D for a start. Keep praciticing them until you get good at switching between them. You cand find plenty of songs that has these chords only to play so you don't get bored. Afterwards work towards leartning other chords that would help to play your favorite songs. Keep practicing everyday and I promise you it'll get easier each day!

Honestly I been struggling with strumming for a while. I started with finger picking since I was the most familiar with that because it reminded me of when I played piano, but strumming was something I postponed for the longest time ( essentially a year ) and you made the best and most understandable version of this song, so thank you for that! Quickly becoming one of my favorite guitar teachers

If I understand you correctly, there is not an easy answer to determining a strum for a song. In summary I must listen to the songs and educate my ear And the must better would probably be to attend your classes regulary. Secondly I am 69 years old so I have to learn very guickly Too bad you do not teach the harp, Because I think I get closer to God quickly.
