Thank you everyone for the amazing response to this video! We're overwhelmed :)
However, we would like to accept two mistakes that we've committed in this video:
    1. Euler is pronounced incorrectly. Should be pronounced as Oi-ler and not Yoo-ler.
    2. At 7:20, the corresponding value for 10,000 should be 2.71814 and NOT 2.7184.
We sincerely apologize for the mistakes! We wish we could edit or re-upload the corrected video. But in that case, we would lose all our views. A big thank you to everyone that pointed our mistakes out. We will be more careful next time. Until then, happy learning :)

here in Egypt Education is all about memorizing
could you imagine that's how our teacher explain "our lesson today is e

    Lim (1+1/X)^X+Y= e
    lim (1+y/x)^x = e^y
    Lim (1+1/X)^yX = e^y "
    then :
    "solve these Questions
    lim (X/(1+X)) = ..... ? "
for the first time I know what this e really is

You're doing such a great job by tackling the concepts
There are hundreds out there who simply explain how to solve questions
You deserve much more; it's just that most people want an easy way out (to simply solve the question) but we know that conceptual clarity is more important.
Just one thing: It's my sincere request that you categorise all your videos into playlists.
There are so many amazing resources on your channel but most of it becomes untapped potential. We only get to know about the ones that get recommended.

45 years ago, I memorized "2.718281828", a value I could plug into a calculator in case I ever needed to solve a logarithm problem and "e" wasn't built in to the calculator. I never knew until watching this video what the meaning of "e" was. Thanks!

Since the title says 'What is e', the video is good enough. Still the way the video starts, I thought there would be some explanation for why e is used as a preferred base for logarithms, just as it explained why 10 is a commonly used base.

    • @iyyappansivaraman5027
      @iyyappansivaraman5027 7 лет назад +2

Jatin Sanghvi it s because it is extremely useful in transforming functions into trigonometric functions, with cis thetha. Also it describes infinite CI.and e^x is the only number which is its integral,as well as derivative
I believe these properties of e are due to e,being defined as lim x approaches infinity. (1+1/x)^x=e.The reason e is important,is because it helps in simplifying complicated integrals and also,it s log helps to describe real life phenomena, such as Boyle s law

That will be a pleasant comprehension during a trip. It’s not hard a concept a concept at all, yet it’s application is very present in our everyday life…..considering anything finance related is a part of your life.
