Hey, Greg! I'm glad you said TEND to be old. I'm old: 58. My friends are old too. We have all listened to Deerhoof for years. Look for the grey hairs at your shows.
I saw them in Birmingham UK once with a pretty bad sound & they were still mind blowing. This is one band that don’t necessarily need a good sound balance
They are a great band and they are nice people, i don't know what went wrong here but satomi's vocals usually sound way better. The new album is awesome.
I LOVE THIS SONG ~ VERY INTERESTING AND ORIGINAL IT IS ~ I LIKE THE PREMISE AND THE MESSAGE ~ COOL APPROACH ON EVERYTHING ~ CARLOS GUITARLOS 90042 FREEDOMVILLE USA
And WELL'WELL in just about 32:21 minutes interview is in my opinion a "CLASSIC BROADCAST" I'm just saying "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" and just let the real world truth be told the truth. Is/was uploaded on September 8,2017.
It's a shame Satomi's vocals came out so bad in this. Still, it's the best new album I've heard all year, and well worth a listen if you're actually open to see what they're like when they're on form. There are some really awful comments on here. How depressing.
This young man seems to have decided it is age that causes the problem. Youth does that. I hope someone is able to get him to see he is stereo typing. In each age group all behaviors exist. When he is old he'll know, I just hope it happens sooner.
lol he's like 47 here. He knows what's up. I'm sure he's aware it's a stereotype. Stereotypes are often useful. And it's a true stereotype. My generation will fail the younger generation too one day, in some way. Already Gen Z is crazy intelligent. Ah well.
I was born in 58, I grew up with heavy metal like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and the like. so the most positive thing I can think to say about this band is that the singer is really cute. ;)
You've been eating too much shit Candy Cane, I know this because whenever you open your mouth all the shit keeps falling out. You should go on a diet :D
Yeah, much better on the albums. They have other people doing vocals occasionally and she has more of a chance to get it right... honestly I enjoy her overall presence at this point but as a vocalist, especially live.. it's really sketchy sometimes. The vocals were always what put me off before I fell completely in love with them -- because of the composition & the wide range of styles.
Amazingly bad music, bad voice, and intrusive and unnecessary body language by the drummer and the man on the right of the picture. For god's sake, remove it at once. And it is amazingly called the "best band in the world"!!
I love Democracy Now, I love Deerhoof. Two of my favorite things together! Love this so much.
I appreciate the thoughtfulness in their responses. Big fan of their music already.
The audio engineer did them dirty on this one.
Right.. The vocal eq is so narrow :/

I Love your style.
Great Concepts!
❤️🌈🙃
Bravo! You got my vote
These guys rock. Every member is just so talented. People are commenting that the sound mixing is off. I think they are missing the point.

Deerhoof are a musical Odyssey.
Wow - thanks 4 this!!!
I do love me some Deerhoof.
Wow this is crazy!
I didn't even know 'democracy now' had live performances??! 🤯🔥🔥🔥
Usually the band do the mixing themselves after they make a performance but I think this time it was studio who did it and it shows
Holy shit. Deerhoof is amazing, but the studio recording and mixing was god awful.

I agree I met satomi and Greg very nice people. I didn’t realise they were married.

Well it is youtube and the internet, after all; horrible comments and rigid cynicism are increasingly the norm.

Wow no amy that was truly terrible.
The guitars were good but that girl's voice makes Yoko sound like an opera singer.
