I built one the same color, with rattle can, about 50 years ago. It wasn't a flip nose though. Yours is better. 3D printing comes with some risks that I think many people will shy away from, when they learn more about it, so I agree it isn't likely to replace AMT and Revell and others.
Eighteen degrees here, Jason. Nice build. I actually like MPC kits, especially the vintage kits from the sixties and seventies. I agree, I appreciate all the kit makers. Otherwise, we wouldn't be in the hobby. Enjoy your Sunday.
I remember project x and also popular hot rodding magazine, I'd have to say your bill came out looking great I might have to try to find that kit and give it a shot 👍👍
I'm not picky about what car models &semi trucks I like to build.it's just my time in dials .and the only place I could spray paint out side in my back yard is in the summer.no room in my inn. nice model.
Great looking 57 Chevy! I have one on my shelf. It was one of my first builds after I reentered the hobby! I appreciate all the companies that produce kits. Yea...some may be a little more challenging than others, but that's what makes you grow your skills. It will be interesting to see if kit manufacturers will start 3d printing some of their kit parts. Merry Christmas and enjoy your time off!!
Project X! I just built a gasser out of this kit, but I used Keystones lol. Its great that with modern 3d parts and some basic skills even the most basic and unloved of kits can really be brought to life. And paint is the easy part, prep is the key! Could probably finger paint one and get it smooth 😆 55 in Montana, its not right!
I have a strange love affair with 1970's MPC kits, especially the Corvettes. It's kind of a love/hate thing, I can't explain it. 😆 Maybe I'll join in next Sunday even though I don't drink coffee.
Awesome build Jason!!!! I remember building this one in the early 1980’s, & the Box Art featured a Red ‘57 Chevy with wire wheels on it. I still have one of them unbuilt in the box! I really love this kit, especially because it’s a Post Sedan with those enlarged wheel wells. Thanks for sharing, & Merry Christmas!🎄
Beautiful build, I built one as a teenager, no clue what happened to it and plan on doing another one at some point! I'm with you, just be thankful we have the manufactures putting out what they are, even if it gives us a simple starting point! Enjoy the time off brother, happy holidays!
Cool build Jason, great job. I have built this kit and it's my most popular build. Everyone loves my 57 Chevy gasser flip nose. I like this kit so much i want to build another one 👍😎
Very nice. The only reason I've never bought that kit is because it said MPC on it. After watching this I think I'm gonna pick one up. You're right about MPC, some of their kits can be really nice if you have experience and skill.
Very cool build! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with the same thoughts about 3d printing. I'll gladly support someone selling some great products. Plus I like scratch building stuff. Thanks for sharing.
I love the 57' in bright yellow Jason! The new Revell box art is killer! I did know that was such a good kit, i guess I'll get one soon Merry Christmas ☕🎄🧑🎄😎👍

It is a nice kit...been reissued a few times mainly as the Spirit of 57.... It was also issued as the Rock Rolla 57.
Thanks for sharing I have overlooked that kit. I may have to pick one up.
It's a great kit for sure!
