I've never been a football fan, but watching Wrexham made me actually interested in the sport, loved the show, and the heart of the people they showed in the series.
As a Brighton fan, that almost lost our club in the late 90s, I truly feel for Wrexham fans. And if we can grow and make moves and get to where we are now, so can Wrexham. Its why I cheer for them to be so successful.
Look forward to these each week. Hate they're so short. Probably why they aired two episodes at a time in the US. I guess it just means we'll have more weeks to look forward to the reactions. :) By the way, huge Wrexham fan here in NC, USA due to this series. This season I have the online subscription so I can sit here in my Wrexham jersey and watch every game live. Have also been lucky enough to see them play three times the past couple years as they've sent teams to TST (the Soccer Tournament) twice and played Chelsea in Chapel Hill, NC. Never thought I'd get the opportunity to see them in person, much less locally. Keep up the great work!
Ugh your discussion on Chelsea’s debt being written off just made my blood boil. Meanwhile, Everton has two point deductions. I was trying to block that from memory. Thanks for that! 😂
Oakland also had an NHL team, the Seals, part of doubling of the old six-team league in 1967-68. They lasted until 1976, were moved to Cleveland for two years, then merged with the Minnesota North Stars (who were subsequently moved to Dallas). How's that for loyalty to the fans???
I was curious too why they called the stand behind the goal "the Kop" in Liverpool, so I looked it up, and it turns out it's been called that since the Boer War. If I recall correctly "kop" means hill in Dutch, and in the Boer War there was a hill where all the troops used to gather (or something like that?), and the full stand at Anfield reminded a war veteran of the Kop from the war in South Africa, and the term caught on.
The aspects that "Welcome To Wrexham", and "Ted Lasso" is exactly what all sports need to grow. Aspects like showing the passion of the fans. Another aspect is what the teams means to the city. Same with passion from the people behind the scenes like owners, coaches, & players.
Oakland has the Golden State Warriors from when they played in Oakland from 1971 to 2019, but they've been in the San Francisco-Oakland area since 1962. Oakland had an expansion NHL team starting in 1967. It was more known as the Golden State Seals. But it seemed like each year they kept changing their name until they relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1974. Which they disbanded in 1977.
I was born in Baltimore. My whole family were diehard Colts fans. I had friends whose parents worked for the team. They went to work one morning and it was all closed up. Some fans switched to support Washington, but my family and the old blue collar Baltimore folks just stuck in and refused. To this day, I will not support the Colts. It's always fascinating to me fans who support players wherever they go over teams.
Oakland technically lost their basketball team, but the Warriors have never been the Oakland Warriors and they just moved across the bridge to SF so it's not like the team isn't still in the same area as the fans
I’m surprised you’re not watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia after watching this. Also, the red tape in the states is horrible here as well. Not so bad for single family homes, but anything other then that may require the sacrifice of your first born

I saw them play Chelsea in Chapel Hill. It was such a fun evening, and a great opportunity to wear my jersey. 😊

I'm enjoying these reactions so much.
Thank you so much!

The owner of the Baltimore Colts literally moved the the NFL team to Indianapolis in the night.

Do you guys think they would like watching the show"Shoresy"? I'm from Wisconsin so I like it.
Would love to see them react to Shoresy. I wonder what they would think of the part of North America you DON'T see anyone react to LoL

My grandmother was a big Dodgers fan, but she never forgave them for moving out of Brooklyn and became a Mets fan instead.
You've probably been told this countless times already, but your next series watch should be It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
We are thinking of adding that to Patreon in the near future!

No, the USA doesn't have problems with deeds from the 1400's...
