    Questions I ask myself when buying a new ute.
    1. How many of previous models can I find that have done over 400,000 ks?
    2. How much does it cost to service over the life of the vehicle?
    3. Will it take the beating I'm going to give it?
    Questions my wife asks
    1. What colours does it come in?
    2. Are the seats comfy?
    3. What about pockets, hooks, etc?
    Questions I never ask
    1. How quick does it pull up?
    Answer.....stop tailgating and watch the road.
    2. How does it handle around corners?
    Answer.....it's a ute, not a sports car. So pretty average at best. It's like asking what's the best flavoured poo. At what time are you hammering so fast around a corner that you're more concerned about the ride feel than losing your load?
    3. Does it handle better with a load on?
    Answer.....of course it does, it's a work ute. They are all designed to do that.
    Questions I ask after watching this review
    1. Who is this review for?
    2. Who paid?
    3. Is there some kind of time limit for the video? Why not just review them all and do a thorough job of it?

    I’m going to tell you what’s the best work truck. It my brother’s ‘86 Nissan 720 with its Z24i engine. Fast, powerful, super reliable, real 4x4 system, fools proof torsion bars front suspension and good fuel consumption. We work on construction and frequently we put more than a ton and a half in the bed without problems. Also use it to tow heavy cement mixers from places where the platforms can’t access and always first try turn on. This and the old Toyota’s R22 are the best.

My D40 does better in fuel but Toyota is shocker to drive like my back, been fatigue n no better in fuel then driving my VS V6 Commodore ute. It sad not see Ford Falcon ute as it set benchmark for all utes.

  • @macdonaldjohnstonfan
    @macdonaldjohnstonfan 5 лет назад +1

    Reviews like this just show the lack of credibility that you guys have, it seems that every year you have to have a new winner as you don't want to look like your favouring anyone. What about the Dmax, ditch the Triton, given the Hilux and Ranger where diesels why did you even put the petrol Triton in there? No one buys utes like these without trays either, last time I looked the workmate Hilux price included a tray, yet the other 2 the tray is extra. The Triton looks crap, it's cheap and underpowered yet still one, I just don't understand you clowns, you had the Dmax, Navara and Amarok all with diesel engines you could have thrown into the review. The workmate Hilux still sells like there is no tomorrow so clearly Toyota are doing something right.

    • @doctorboy5892
      @doctorboy5892 4 года назад +1

      What? We are talking about work utes not 4x4's where the tray is so high you can't load anything onto it (I am 194cm tall). 4x4 is terrible to drive around laden as the centre of gravity is so high. Look around mate. All the 4x4 utes driving around have trays that are EMPTY. They also have fairy men behind the wheel.

      @@stickers8447 I do not know where you get your pricing from? The Triton is cheap and nasty, and at $25k + O.R.C is not much cheaper than the BT-50 at $30k + O.R.C (I was quoted earlier this month) which is much more competent all round. The Triton wouldn't even get up a hill with 1 tonne on the back.

    • @stickers8447
      @stickers8447 5 лет назад +8

      Brad triton is $22,490 + ORC. No one in the history of buying tritons has paid retail, so I’d say you’re getting that on road easily for $22k, if you got quoted $30k + ORC, there is the difference

    • @JDMEVOVIGSR
      @JDMEVOVIGSR 5 лет назад +1

      @@stickers8447 Nobody buys a ute without a tray, so $25k it is. My quote of $30k for the BT-50 included a $2.5k alloy tray. Comparing apples with apples, there is only ~ $5k in it. If things are a little tight with overheads in business, then there may not be an option but chose a Triton (or Hilux). With interest rates as low as they currently are, you'd have rocks in your head to go with Triton. We upgraded to BT-50's from Hilux 2.7L petrol workmates and its the best thing we ever did. I might add that the Triton looks like a hat full of assholes.

      Brad ok, you find me someone who paid that price and I’ll show you a joker. While we’re on the subject, you’re buying a bt over a ranger even though the ranger is much better inside... interesting. Btw, that Mazda has its critics in the looks department too..

    This review is rubbish. Fat journalists doing comparisons at Wakefield Park? Totally irrelevant for working tradesman. Only buy a turbo diesel if you do a weekly highway run. Short runs in diesels result in turbo & expensive DPF repairs over time. Petrol Triton dies up hills, build quality is poor and Mitsubishi is notorious for bad after sales service. Hilux has jiggly unsettled ride and hard to live with empty or fully loaded. All these utes are ordinary jack of all trades vehicles and do nothing well.
