This is a really good guitar demo. He played a nice chord progression really well, and you could hear this great sounding Martin 000-18 without a bunch of distractions, or talking. Good job sir!
I am so glad I bought one of these. I got the MD, modern deluxe version. I tried a lot of them and sort of cherry picked the best one. I had the help of an old Nashville studio player for a second set of ears on the expedition and that helps a lot. This instrument is another world from a dreadnought and no matter how realistically it is microphoned up, you never really get the idea until it's in your hands. All I can say is that it is just an exceptional guitar but is also more specific a sound and is better for certain things and a dread is better for other stuff. I mean you can play anything you want on any guitar, any style, but 000's and smaller, are just different creatures and this instrument will drive that fact home.
If it's meant to be you will excel on a good affordable guitar, and probably aquire another great guitar someday. If it's not a calling, let these exceptional tools fall into the hands of serious musicians and songwriters.
This is a custom shop?, Beautiful Rosewood Bridge , and the that freatboard?...this is not the standard model!!!....wow! tell us please two years later sir, what Exact Model is that beauty??
Can’t even begin to understand why they are leaving the factory like that. And don’t tell me it’s so as to not waste wood. If I’m paying 3k for a guitar it better have a pitch black fret board. I recently bought a d18 and I was really worried I’d open the case to something like this. Luckily mine was black all the way through.
I think it’s kinda cool. What most people don’t know is that ebony is nearly always streaked. Mostly when you see ebony that’s pure black on a Martin guitar, it’s been dyed. There’s something cool about a Martin guitar with an un-dyed, natural ebony fretboard. It’s got more character. More individuality.
this is a very accurate example of what my 000-18 sounds like. Such a fantastic guitar and very dynamic!

00018 was the best guitar I ever owned, and I regret parting with it.I paid 150 dollars for it ,and never appreciated what I had.

Full, clear, even cristaline ♥️
Nice playing and great sounding guitar.
Martin should use the 24.9 scale as standard

What song are you playing when you switched to using a pick? Very nice!!! Very nice Martin too!!! Thanks
Хочу такую же гитару. Но я живу в России. И такие гитары стоят у нас около 300 тысяч рублей.
What gauge strings?
Is that a reflection or is that Ebony streaked? I know about the dark Ebony supplies but for a Martin Standard guitar, it’s not a good look at all.
exactly what I was thinking. I wanted to buy online but I saw too many 18s with those stripes on the fingerboard.
I love the stripes!!! Doesn't hurt the sound, Doesn't hurt the looks(IMHO), and no more wasted ebony.

@@Paulcarlinmusic Why would you buy a guitar you've never played or seen? Every guitar is different from one guitar to the next. To each there own
@@douglasholdenjr.45 Looks like shit to me personally
Sounds great but that fretboard looks terrible.
