  • The Godwin Lawson Foundation hosted their 2023 under-15’s annual football tournament at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North-East London (CONEL) in memory of local teenager Godwin Lawson, a promising footballer who was fatally stabbed in 2010.
The Foundation was established following his tragic death, to commemorate the life of this young man who was such an inspiration to many.
For the past 11 years, The Godwin Lawson Foundation have partnered with The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to organise tournaments for teenagers in memory of Godwin with an aim to create safe spaces for young people, focusing on early intervention and to educate them about the consequences of knife crime.
This eventful day which was attended by Tottenham Hotspur club Ambassador Jermain Defoe saw over 120 young adults representing 16 clubs from across London, taking part in the seven-a-side tournament.
The Godwin Lawson Foundation have been working in partnership with Spurs since 2011 and in that period have reached over 5,000 young people.
We are determined to use Football as a catalyst for reducing youth violence, breaking postcode barriers and building positive relationships within our youth.
