As an Aussie I always wondered how you so easily split the logs....we had a farm full of yellow box and iron wood trees. These ones literally tell you that you can shove the axe up your arse!
From experience.. our wood, especially the ironbarks around here, do exactly two things.. makes you super fit, and also makes you really good at sharpening / fixing tools... Thats why all our shows have wood-chopping, its basically "Who will win, the log; or the sanity of the poor bastard with the axe"
Thats absolutely wild, had no idea it was that tough. I planted a small stand of eucalyptus a few years ago for firewood as it's so fast growing, might have to hire a splitter when it comes to the harvest!
Reminds me of Campbor trees in Florida. They planted a forest of these to harvest the oil and then it never really panned out. Birds ate the seeds and crapped them everywhere. Now we have camphor trees everywhere and they're totally trash trees. We call them weeds. You can cut them down to nothing and they grow right back.
As an Australian I know your pain yes we do split it from the out side never through the middle, but most of all we don't use it cause it's so hard , stringy bark gum is the best for splitting and heat
Hello my friend. I live in NSW Central Tablelands - Orange. I used to have a 200 acre block of land, house, etc. My opinion of Aussie trees, great for firewood, impossible to find a straight piece for building. Need to cut, stack, dry, then use. Did a lot of personal splitting like you. Either we had a block splitter or an axe, nothing in between. Love your work. Either a block splitter or an axe. Don't think your timber is as tough or impossible to split like some Aussie hardwood. Keep your vid going, can you cut or delete your swering ? Don't bother me, would like to show family.
Have you ever heard of a China berry tree I have them everywhere and the roots make anything else that they touch poisonous so all my avocado trees I can’t eat because of these China berry trees and they are so invasive. Just wondered if you’ve ever heard of them?
Just hand split 2 ton of red gum. It's cold here. Bark still on means it hasn't cured yet - it take two inches of thickness per year to cure...and you didn't use a splitting wedge! You are one tough monkey! Australia
I think this is the first time I've seen him take more than 10 swings to split a log.
"This tree, not unlike this page, is very thirsty..."
🤣🤣 indeed edu-tainment for the most parched 😅
Love the personal kick at the end. I feel that too after a knotted round

They are fantastic as chopping boards in the kitchen though 😍

Gotta appreciate skills that pay the bills. Keep up the grind.
I’m Australian and this isn’t even our hardest wood
No. But hardness also doesnt necessarily dictate difficulty to split either. We have manzanita which is harder, but spits way easier.
Woah nice work! I’d probably have to stop for electrolytes half way through 😂
Sounds like you have a case of whiney baby syndrome
39 that was still awesome and you are incredible
LOVE LOVE LOVE the content where you teach us about the origins of various tree species. I'm here for this nerdy wood history 🤓🤓
That kick in the end was personal
Why didn’t you take the suspenders off from the start? They’re holding your power levels back
Probably wanted to give the tree a chance. One shotting everything is boring to the gods
Training bro, training
Nice dear in the background left around 2 min
😂 “quick while he is not looking”
"Literally everything from Australia seems like it can kill you" is a fact 😂
But Mr. Bradley is Chuck Norris reincarnated before he even died yet.
Love that you’re chopping eucalyptus 🇦🇺 A lot of Australians know the struggle! There are heaps of species of it, which one is in California?
Tazmanian blue gum is one we have (that’s the one I like most for firewood) we also have other eucalyptus species too. Softer ones
BRB, getting a glass of water...
It must smell so good!
I feel like seeing the other axes try will give me more of a real feel, not everyone has a custom firemaul 😂

I counted 40 swings before that thing split…wow
In the later part of this video don't watch, just close your eyes and listen 👀
Yup I've split eucalyptus logs. They are horrible. Get the grenade splitter and hammer in a split.
Wow, you got me worried about your wrists and elbows hitting that brick like that! 💪 Well done!
Congratzzzz ..... Great Day !!! great Job ...
You could tell from the first strike ( echo ) it was going to be nasty 😂
It's like concrete. You are one tuff badass dude. All man. Wow I'm impressed
It's also extremely flammable and is definitely contributing to wildfires on the west coast
Cool!!
Nice job 🎉
It’s my absolute favorite firewood. Most BTU per cord that there is. Plus very low ash.
As an Aussie I dream of wood as easy to split as blue gum. Grey box and ironbark make bluegum look like some sort of wussy north american "hardwood".

Ummm, nope, there is no way I would be able to do that. I would have told myself, "where is my chainsaw"?

Sorry mate, I'm in Australia !!
Even your gelled hair moved a bit 😮
What brand of maul are you using?
We have blue gum in India as well (naturalised), we use them for handles as well.
Thats why we split it green in Tasmania lol
Is this a re upload
👍👍
Never seen it take him that long to get thru any type of log. Is there anything that strong of wood is good for?
they make great chopping boards
Damn!😳
You think that's hard. Try Brigalow or Gidgee. They kill saw blades. They make beautiful timber though.
Hahahahahahah! Perfect ending!
Just wondering….can you not use a chainsaw?
Yeah I’d have deemed it impossible by swing 4
Try a Red Gum oneday
🍀
White shirt way too clean.
Why repost this from like 5 months ago with a slightly different edit?
You have huge hands and how tall are you?
HHHHAAAAaaaa!.
Have you ever heard of a China berry tree

AUZZY AUZZY AUZZY OI OI OI !!!!!!!!
🪓🙌🏼hell yeah 💯
Any chance you coming to Australia to chop some wood for me its winter and its rather cold 🤣
I use that wood In my stove and it's a bitch to split with a wood splitter
Might want to put your purse down
Maybe you should have sharpened your axe beforehand. 😉😜
Ps..... Even though you managed to split the wood, I'd still have to give the eucalyptus the WIN. 🤣😂
Thoren, now work your way down in weight and try another piece, go to a 4lber to a 3.5 to a boys axe
Уважаю!🤝👍✊
Imagine being an explorer there trying that the first time not knowing
