I bought the Milwaukee M18 Surge driver after seeing your review of its excellent speed control. I absolutely love it as well.

Great vid Doc. The 3 inch cut off is such a useful tool. I had no idea about the little belt sander that looks crazy handy. Thanks

M12 1/4 hex electric screwdriver. Got it in Dec, the whole kit (charger +2 batteries) , for $49 with Veteran's Discount. LOVE IT!!!!!
The week after that initial purchase, I saw they had one kit left and got it for the same price for my brother as a Xmas present.

Great video as always! I have just about everyone of those tools with a few exceptions! One that I don't have is the m18 surge, I have ( 2) of the m12 surge and it comes in handy as a commercial refrigeration tech/ hvac guy.. but I ran into a couple scenarios where the m12 surge just wasn't powerful enough.. I had to run back to the van for my m18 drill driver! I hear you always raving about the m18 surge so I'm gonna buy it tomorrow! I have plenty of m18 impact drills 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen, hell even dewalts but the hydraulic impact is just a bit different the way it feels/works! Im ready to hear about all the milwaukee gear you speak of lol!

I really like the Jaco Lightning air chucks for use with the inflator, they just push on and haven’t leaked for me.
They have a style specifically for inflators with an extension hose built in, plus standalone chucks that would require an adapter like the LockNFlate if you don’t want the extra hose.

I have researched the M12 die grinders, and most everyone else gives them high marks. You can stall it out, but it supposedly does the job well.
Also, I don't know what you inflate, but my M12 inflator does a fine job with the 80 psi tires on my full sized Transit and putting 115 psi in my bike tires.
I really like the M12 line and have about 10 of their tools.

The only complaint I have with Milwaukee is the lever for the blade release on the Sawzall. Mine has issues not locking the blade in.

I have that M12 cutioff tool, and while I like it, I find it underpowered. Apparently the Dewalt and Rigid versions are much better - at least according to the TT channel. And I have the Ryobi staple gun. I got that based on Project Farm's testing of battery powered staple guns - he found Makita was the best, but Ryobi came in a close second for much less - and that thing is great. It will drive big staples all the way into fake plastic decking, so it's more than adequate for anything else. I plan to add some M18 tools to my shop starting this summer (at my next birthday), and you've given me too many ideas. I'm sure my wife will thank you, too (not).

Was kind of disappointed with the hackzall, I guess my expectations were too high (which is most people's issue with specialty m12 tools) but it seems like the small stuff it's meant for is way better suited for a portable band saw or a multitool. Love the right angle die grinder tho I have zero complaints using it with abrasive.
Can't decide between the milwuakee or Dewalt band file. The Dewalt has some extra features that are nice. I picked up the HF Bauer version and it's kind of useless for what I wanted to use it with. It's corded and too big for my needs with no speed control. More of a portable belt sander than a "file"

I would like to have seen a top top ten M12 and a top ten M18 separate video. Do have a preference between the M12 stubby impact 1/2” or the 3/8”? Thanks

    • @Justin-C
      @Justin-C 7 месяцев назад

3/8" is the way to go for the stubbies... 1/2" stubby doesn't make much sense UNLESS all you've got is 1/2" sockets and you don't want to buy a 3/8" set

I love the M12 band file, but oh boy.... when I deburr thin sheet metal parts and work lot in the area between the deflection roller and the small leaf spring, the sanding belts tear way too fast. Milwaukee would have been better off putting some sort of plastic there to support the sanding belt instead of that metal leaf spring.

I’ve had several Dremel Moto Tools over the years and I’m a huge fan of the Dremel Keyless Chuck but Dremel’s quality control has gone down hill. You might have to buy a few Keyless Chucks until you find one that doesn’t shake like an out of balance washing machine.

The milwuakee inflators are a massive miss for me not being able to power it with your car. I needed a good pump for emergencies to keep in my car and tool batteries are useless in -30 weather. Bad emergency tool and a massive disappointment. I got the Dewalt instead which can use DC or AC power sources and it's served me well.

I acquired a Harbor Freight angle grinder - calling it a piece of sh*t would be overrating it. Toy like build quality, no ergonomics, dangerous and died faster than a mayfly.

I like that TTI seems mostly respectful of american brand legacies, but i'm not really a fan of Chinese conglomerates buying american brands to masquerade as american companies. That seems deliberately misleading - especially with a name like "Milwaukee".
In this case (admittedly not necessarily a majority of the time), in terms of performance, I'm counting only ~8-10 of these 20 that match or outperform their dewalt counterparts in testing when new (also not sure about longevity). Anyway, I'll pass on this one. Looking forward to more handtools.
