Sup team - some of the footage you see is pulled from all the Kingdom Rush titles. Because the core game is the same and the features vary between titles imo I don't believe it matters which game you try first. Each game has different heroes, enemies and towers. They are similarly priced and the story isn't in depth enough imo for it to matter which one you jump into first. I'm a big fan of the series and would encourage if you like the look and feel of one over the other, go for the one that looks most compelling. Know you are getting a great TD experience regardless of which game you start. The level beginning at 5:15 is from the first installment.
I will argue that Venegence and Allience are different enough to be mentioned. They change the upgrades systems and instead of 8 4 tier towers you get 5 towers specialised from the begining.
I mean, you pick 5 towers out of all towers you unlocked*. Very important thing to say. And Steam versions are fullest experience in terms of content
@@Alkriexion-w8h That is one thing I failed to research/mention. I did not realize the differences between mobile and PC/Console. A lot more paywalls on the mobile version.

Should you *not* buy kingdomrush (if you want to play a tower defense game)
greatest tower defense series ever hands down and will keep being the greatest tower defense series ever.
I want to explore more titles but this one is going to be hard to beat

@@Rusher-VGC well arknights isn't really a gacha game ,it's more like a puzzle game , the gacha shit is for casual player . With a lot of thinking and knowledge you can beat everything because arknights gameplay depth is way way more than any other tower defense game can ever dream to reach

Kingdom Rush alongside Bloons and Plants vs Zombies has consistently been one of the most popular tower defense games for a reason
That said, if you're planning to play the next entries in the series I would highly suggest getting the steam version as you get all of the content in one go (with the exception of the Hammerhold DLC for Vengeance). There is currently a 10% discount on all of the games celebrating the 5th installment of the series so, enjoy!

For over a decade now, i keep coming back to these games and still always get hooked. And even after all this time quite a few of the levels are still pretty tough for me on Veteran.
For me personally these games(except for vengeance cough cough) are better than Bloons and even better than Plants vs Zombies
Also i would always recommend getting the steam versions, because there you get all of the heroes(and towers in vengeance and alliance) without having to pay extra like in the mobile version.
TBH I hadn't looked into the pricing options for mobile so that's a bit annoying it's micropurchases for heroes. You're the second person to mention Bloons I'm going to need to give it a try. For me this is the perfect genre to sit in Discord with people and play while watching streams or movies. Love it, low pressure and challenging.
All games have references and achievements in every level and I love that

The game is solid, I think it lacks content for now but they will keep releasing small updates like the one in october for free.
Unlike Vengeance the game is not a slog to go trough (that game was SO DAMN SLOW), and a lot of og towers are back and the double hero is fun.
Though I still hate that they put half of the towers behind a paywall when I already paid for the game (I don't mind it for the heroes), but I guess they are gonna keep going in that direction since Vengeance and there is no coming back.
The first installment I thought was great. Working my way through the rest currently. Frontiers has a better focus on heroes, sincerely enjoyed the new towers, you're not the first to mention Vengeance being subpar compared to the rest. I didn't put any research into the paywalls on mobile compared to PC and it sucks they added those to mobile but somewhat the state of industry now unfortunately.
@@ghoststoriesgaming The first time I have played it was on free games websites and didn't even have heroes added. Vanilla KR was very different. With the addition of new features the game became more and more fun. I could sum it up for you like this:
KR : 10/10 Perfect
KR Frontiers:11/10 The levels of this game are challenging and are beautifully designed
KR Origins: 8/10 Some towers are straight up busted and some levels are boring because of that, overall I enjoyed it
KR Vengeance: 5/10 you have 5 towers to choose from instead of 8 final towers like previous games, waves are mainly composed of tanky VERY SLOW units, levels are meh because you could win just by choosing the right towers (basically no strategy involved) , skeleton/mauseloum busted as fuck, free heroes are dogshit, introduction of a paywall to use all the towers (which is like 90% of the game's fun), lvl 3 towers are useless, this game has some bullshit enemies that make barracks completely useless (also skeletons are just barracks but with range attack and way better stalling) and I could go on...

@@ghoststoriesgaming Just because you are a content creator, give it a try and who knows, maybe is your cup of tea and it's free content for you to talk about on top of that. Is not like vengeance is the worst tower defense game ever made, it's just that this game doesn't hold up in the KR's standards that everyone is used to.
@@seifeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee For sure, I'm less inclined to spend the $ if it's generally looked down upon haha, I'm happy to wait for the sale. I do like being fully educated on the series though touching all titles when possible.
always make your hero fight
The hero should always be gaining exp. Never have your hero be stationary 👍
100% I tend to lean toward the ranged heroes
I have 100% every kingdom rush game on both my phone and iPad lol. I don’t really play them anymore but tower defense were always my favorite as a kid so I’ve tried them all. Kingdom Rush is just simply the overall best. Love the graphics. It’s actually hard but far from impossible. Lots to do even after you beat it.
Not a huge fan of the newest one though… gameplay is up with the best but it’s way too short.

Just wondering, Are you playing an older version of kingdom rush, because there some missing heroes and some missing stars that should be there (the max is 130 stars on the latest version)
Should be the latest version I picked it up on Steam. The screenshots I pulled from their media kit and Steam so those might be outdated. My play version shows 130 stars.

kr vengeance is the worst one in my opinion and you can skip buying it. But the other ones are worth it

@@ghoststoriesgaming Heroes and towers with some exceptions hit like wet noodles. Game wasnt fun. Wasnt balanced. The art style was a downgrade.
But happy to say kr alliance which is the latest one fixed these issues. Kr alliance and the original 3 all share the same engine. The entire community collectively hated vengeance. it had a new game engine that felt worse but alliance went back to the old engine. I think universally the community ranks vengeance as the worst game of the series.

Last month I got in a KR frenzy and I bought all the games on steam. I honestly don’t see why people are so mad at the game. When I was playing the biggest issue I had with the game is that the game was easier than the 3 previous games.
I look at some videos explaining why they didn’t like the games and they showed thing that where problematic but I never saw while playing so I have to assume that the game was patched.
