2024 Governor's Service Awards: Daniel Pan

Daniel Pan stands out as a mentor who goes above and beyond for the students at Morgantown High School. Daniel's journey began with a vision to instill a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among students. Despite his busy schedule in medical school, he mentors students, helps with college applications, recruits volunteers, and secures funding for students to participate in national STEM competitions.
Over the past year, Daniel's students broke several records at the Science Olympiad National Tournament, placing higher than any West Virginia team has ever placed before. Daniel always strives to be the mentor he wishes he had in high school.
