I'm also using UAE Variant of s23 ultra since August 2023 and I'm getting regular updates and No issue in the phone till date. Getting regular software updates, samsung pay , UPI and everything working in UAE variant. Only feature that is missing is call recording because UAE don't allow call recording and for call recording you can use third party.
No I simply buyed it from Deira market and the unboxed and turned it on there and after arriving in india I puted my jio sim in it and It simply started working. there is no need to pre-activate it in UAE. If you still want then you can pre-activate it by putting UAE sim and make a phone call

If u have both options blindly go for UAE version..almost very similar to indian varient. Dubai is a global market where they sale japan,uk,us,korean units(known as internation unit) but everyone has few cons. Single sim, some has band issue, some has delayed update. Some are carrier locked unlocked forecely with unwanted apps(verizon,AT&T).

Also u have option to download autocallrecorder app which allow u to records all call. Samsung native recording is silent so the other caller not aware about the recording is going on thats why it is not available in dubai and other more countries

If yes then dont buy it, most of the internation varient phone do not received OTA updates and i m getting regular msg on instagram. Many are complaining jio 5g not working but airtel works well. In 2012 and 2013 i purchased few imported phones from Verizon and AT@T models that time they unlocked through software and when u upgrade any how then the phone is locked again. bro no more software issue reported in new gen phones. and even if u face samsung will take 500rs for software re-installation(firmware). if phone dropped then warranty not applicable in india or outside india untill unless u have ADLD plan and for that u have to pay extra 10k. so by the name of warranty dont pay 50k extra in India.

@FlyingFamily till 25/7/24 it was working perfectly fine, then i installed the update(which i ignored for few days), after the update, my airtel on sim1 stopped completely, and jio on sim 2 was working fine, on removing the the sim tray, to check, jio ka 5g also stopped, only network. When both sims in the sim tray, only jio works, when i remove airtel, then jio works fine with 5g.

If u have both options blindly go for UAE version..almost very similar to indian varient. Dubai is a global market where they sale japan,uk,us,korean units(known as internation unit) but everyone has few cons. Single sim, some has band issue, some has delayed update. Some are carrier locked unlocked forecely with unwanted apps(verizon,AT&T).

Also u have option to download autocallrecorder app which allow u to records all call. If yes then dont buy it, most of the internation varient phone do not received OTA updates and i m getting regular msg on instagram. Many are complaining jio 5g not working but airtel works well. In 2012 and 2013 i purchased few imported phones from Verizon and AT@T models that time they unlocked through software and when u upgrade any how then the phone is locked again. Now a days internation varient support calling for sure for airtel and jio. But Jio 5g issue are still there. Choose UAE or middle east verient from Dubai. Tension free rahoge

Bhai no need to activate by inserting dubai sim. U will get regular updates no vpn needed. Samsung pay n native call recording missing only. Use gpay,phonepe,creds,google wallet and autocall recorder as alternatives

bro no more software issue reported in new gen phones. and even if u face samsung will take 500rs for software re-installation(firmware). if phone dropped then warranty not applicable in india or outside india untill unless u have ADLD plan and for that u have to pay extra 10k. so by the name of warranty dont pay 50k extra in India.

Samsung last update july 2024, my network started giving issues.
Both 5g stopped working, if i remove airtel, then jio 5g works properly.

@FlyingFamily till 25/7/24 it was working perfectly fine, then i installed the update(which i ignored for few days), after the update, my airtel on sim1 stopped completely, and jio on sim 2 was working fine, on removing the the sim tray, to check, jio ka 5g also stopped, only network.
When both sims in the sim tray, only jio works, when i remove airtel, then jio works fine with 5g.
@FlyingFamily i tried changing the sides, but no use. Seems like airtel sim is dead, for no reason.
Or is it my unit is also a dubai unit, and after the update, its facing this issue ??

Sir, can you please confirm your phone model number? I have a dual sim variant bought from noon website. They said its international variant But there is no call recording feature and Jio 5g is also not working.
SM918B/DS. Noon or amazon sell internation and UAE unit both. If u are from India and u want almost every function works without any doubt, buy only UAE/TRA version.
