Love this youtube clip!!!! Sound is VERY VERY subjective, as is Brand image to many musicians. The question should be "Which sound is better in your opinion?" 1 or 2? The answers to "Where is Casio, where is Nord?" Is not subjective. It is fact. 1 is Casio 2 is Nord. I love both of them! However if I had to carry either one up 10 flights of stairs I'd use the Casio, cos it's a fraction of the weight. If I accidentally dropped one down the stairs I'd prefer the Casio, cos it would be a fraction of the cost to replace! I prefer the Nord for Hammond type sounds, but prefer the piano action on the Casio. I did not post this for people to argue with me, my personal opinion is mine. Yours may be different and you are welcome to have a different opinion than me, but that does not make my opinion wrong.
Thank you, Yuriy, for this. To my ears the 1st (must be the Casio) seems artificial, 'hollow' and very 1-0-0-1-1 digital (as if it does not have enough sample quality, almost like the old sampling on the Commodore computers) while the 2nd (which must be the Nord) is much more natural sounding, quite close to a real piano.
The sample quality is just fine, physics related. It's just a different sample, and more mellow. Nord is less mellow, but also more tinny on the higher end.
The second I would guess was the Nord as the sound was much more full in heavier tones. Both sound great, but the 5s is significantly cheaper than the Nord, so it’s a great buy.
Satisfied Casio Privia user here for 4 yrs and I would still prefer no. 2, which is the Nord. I would only get it though if my budget for buying a keyboard is subsidized. And that's why I'm using a Casio.

Casio sounds more natural, better release samples as well. But Nord more constrained sound is designed to cut through the mix when playing with a band.

I don't think anyone is saying that a Casio Privia is made at the same quality price point as the beautifully made and executed Nord. What this awesome comparison does show is how comparable the piano samples really are on these 2 models. Casio Privia has developed a serious instrument for a pittance. Both of these sounds are better than most of the competition to my ear. I auditioned many stage pianos this month and was most impressed by the Nord, Roland models and yes privias. The biggest revelation to me is that not only is this 1000 dollar model this amazing but the samples in the 499 dollar PX 160 are using the same exact technology as the PX 5 S!! Yes ,you get this level of sound, minus many features) for under 500 dollars. Yeah, mine, is on the way.Tom
1casio, 2nord. Casio is always brighter for some reason and just doesn't have the expressive depth though it does sound amazing. I prefer bird but I afford Casio
for a good comparison, I assumed you use the same MIDI recording file for both. For me #2 is a clear winner by a WIDE margin.. and it should be the Nord.. #1 piano sound plastic, unnatural & piercing my ear, #1 also become cleary weak in comparison to #2 when they're tested how to perform in a gradually stronger touch test (p to fff) at the end of this video
They are both very good. I'm inclined to say that number 1 is the Casio, I own a Privia 335 and just love the Grand sounds it has. Such a big sound. Then again, number 2 sounds like a Casio Grand as well. I give up. Which is which?
#2 sounds a bit more "boxy" to my ear than #1. I bet this could be compensated for with EQ though.....amazing the "bang for the buck" the Px5S provides to sound this comparable to a keyboard that cost 3x as much....

OK, I found where you told which is which! I noticed that, with the Casio, your softest notes were louder that the Nord, most of the time. Is that your playing, the keybed action, or a limitation of the Casio? (Thanks so much for your comparison!!!)
I kept the 3k and bought the casio... I noticed the same thing on my first play. Dug into menus and found different velocity settings that helped. I suspect that the nord keybed is better, but the casio is better than my old Yamaha p-200. 24lbs carrying weight... well.. My K2600 weighs 56lbs... 87 in its ata road case.
2. Casio 100% т.к.
1 = casio , 2 = Nord Casio sounds like beginner's keyboards. Even the most expensive casio pianos is far far way from a real piano. Nord 2 is better, but still digital sound. For me, Today Nord Piano 3 have the most realistic sound between all digital pianos on the market. After Nord Piano 3, Rolad RD700 is the best. My opinion!
ypstudio makes me glad I bought a new px 5s a few weeks ago without shopping. I heard it and the price at 899.00 was in my range. I totally love the distorted organ sound on this thing as well.

I came here for the answer of ctk 4400 and e243 video...as you said to check next video...ans plz!!
Ummm... Which is which? That would be helpful.
Eu
In my opinion CASIO
What happened!?
What piano?
😢
This one was soooooo easy, clearly the first one is the Casio.
The nord is the number 1, by default it does not use reverb!
+D Mb Casio has default reverb, nord is does not, it's true. But was added a little reverb to nord for a paritet
#1 is the Casio.... i can't miss that sound...coz I have the same....
Good night I would like to know which piano is the Casio
#1 sounds fake imho. #2 is much better, still not lifelike
You sound like an asshole.
I'd say they're both similar, though Casio is much cheaper.
Voting for the second one (2nd)
which stage setting use In Privia Px 5s????
don't remember.. Just look at manual )
you use presets of factory ?... ConcertGrand ? ?? is the 0-0 .... Have much sounds of piano ....
I sold PX5s 3 years ago. Don't remember it, sorry
Can someone plz tell the chords in the first 20 seconds? Thx a lot.
I'm playing on a toy with batteries . wich woman didnt try this ? Oke...... I have a Hammond toonwiel with 960 leslie , expensive big and heavy....my Roland Prelude, cheap little and light ,it has very good Hammond sounds and even for records I use it more then my Hammond . For using a grand piano I had to buy one , so going to the shop and took 1 hour for it. Even my favo Yamaha couldnt convince me and tatataaaaaaa...the Nord , yes...o happy days. Pling pling pling ehhhhh..pling pling. Hmmmmm ...back to Casio ( thats the brand name of watches yet ? )...pling jazz pling classic. Sir , whats the price ? 733euro ? 800dollar. Things chances and more and more product looking and sounding the same , even in cars ( Kia ) .
Casio.
Casio is best and more natural
1-Casio.2-Nord
OK, I found where you told which is which! I noticed that, with the Casio, your softest notes were louder that the Nord, most of the time. Is that your playing, the keybed action, or a limitation of the Casio? (Thanks so much for your comparison!!!)
I kept the 3k and bought the casio... I noticed the same thing on my first play. Dug into menus and found different velocity settings that helped. I suspect that the nord keybed is better, but the casio is better than my old Yamaha p-200. 24lbs carrying weight... well.. My K2600 weighs 56lbs... 87 in its ata road case.
hello i m think the nord piano is a number 2
casio is better and warmer
2. Casio 100% т.к.
#1, the second it’s a little mellow! I don’t like it.
2 is better.
No
Piano 1
nr 2 sounds better.
Where the hell is the actual answer? Thumbs down...
2!!!
nord wins!!
nord ❤
1 = casio , 2 = Nord
Casio sounds like beginner's keyboards. Even the most expensive casio pianos is far far way from a real piano.
Nord 2 is better, but still digital sound.
For me, Today Nord Piano 3 have the most realistic sound between all digital pianos on the market.
After Nord Piano 3, Rolad RD700 is the best.
My opinion!
1 = Nord, 2 = Casio. The Nord sounds better.
ANSWER - ionika.com.ua/ru/page/px5svsnordstage2
Ha! You had them backwards! You thought the Casio sounded better!
: )) Casio 1, Nord 2
ypstudio makes me glad I bought a new px 5s a few weeks ago without shopping. I heard it and the price at 899.00 was in my range. I totally love the distorted organ sound on this thing as well.
what???? i knew in an instant no. 1 was casio - i have a casio at home it has such a distinctive sound you'd hae to be deaf not to hear it. Speaking of sound quality, nord sounds way better, but it's up to everyone's taste, of course.
Yawn, another 'comparison' review where no identification is made. This was a waste of my time.
+tkarlmann Before waste your time u could see the word "BLIND" in titles.
Call the 'review' whatever you want. It is all written for the reviewer to sit back and chuckle, knowing s/he's the "only one who knows" -- this whole review is just a load of garbage!!!!!
+tkarlmann You can look another youtube video with PX-5s or Nord Stage 2. And compare their sounds. Because on this video Nord is Nord, and Casio is Casio. :) I have a nord, and i played casio px-5s, and this is like that. If you don't believe me, you can search all youtube BLIND sound tests and write comments like "fake, garbage, you waste my time" :)
+tkarlmann Sir if you think its garbage than maybe you'll answer this; Did either sound like garbage?
+tkarlmann Sorry, guys! I'm the sort that likes to know the instrument, then judge the review. I'm beginning to appreciate your "blind" idea. The very fact that you would compare these two speaks well of the Casio.
Privia neles
