Hi, great video! Was the 30 day extension granted for 30 days from the date you applied for the extension, or 30 days from the date of your initial 60 day expiry… if that makes sense 😅
I think what most people do is book their return ticket for 60-90 days after their arrival and then they apply for the extension once they are there. I haven’t heard if it’s possible to buy the ticket after you arrive…?
I imagine that the Airbnb host could organise this for you. But if not I’m sure you could fill out the necessary details of the TM30 (you’ll have to print one off online, link in description) and hand it in with the rest of your documents 😊
So when you book a trip to Thailand, you apply for a 2 month visa, and if you want to stay longer, you do this. To apply for a visa in the first place, you need a proof of onward/return ticket. When do you book your return ticket? Do you book your return ticket at the end of the 60 days, or do you book it at the end of the 90 days? Will you risk getting sent back out of the country if you book a flight at the end of the 90 days when you don't have the visa extension yet? Do i have to book a ticket to go back at the end of the 60 days, and then cancel it after i apply for an extension? I guess to simplify, can i book a return/onward ticket 90 days from entry? and i wont get rejected because im technically overstaying 30 days, since i dont have the extension yet?
Hi there! Yes it’s totally ok to book a ticket exiting Thailand within the 90 days of your arrival. Even if you enter on a 60 day visa. Just make sure you get the extra 30 days sorted within the last 45 days of your 60 day visa 👍🏼
Why did you have to provide a proof of stay (TM30)? I can't see this listed anywhere as a requirement on Thai immigration websites. I was planning to come to Thailand and extend my visa but I'm not sure I will have something booked when extending the visa.
Can you do that whilee you are in the airport? like as soon as you land from your countnry? Or do you need to separately go to ann immigration office and submit it after you land in thailand?
I think that you can do that when you land in Bangkok. The only prerequisite you need to ensure is that you are within 45 days of expiry of your current visa. If you are on a 30 day visa that will be no problem! But if you have a 60 day visa (like us) you will have to wait 15 days 😉
@@cjexplores So after you land, after finishing immigration, do you know if you ask the immigration officer directly to givee you extension, or do you need to go to a separate office on a separate day? Please let mee kow because its my first time and my visa expiree on thee 13th june and i am planninng to go on the 6th junee, so it would be nice if i can get an extrrra 7 days or so

@@alviislam4412 the immigration officer won’t be able to help you, but there should be an immigration office either in the airport or there is one in all the major cities. You have to pay 1900 Thai baht (in cash) and have your forms prepared.
@@cjexplores And one important thing, i am planning to book tickets between 6th-13junee, and visa expires in 13th junee, so if i book my tickets for return datee on 16th how sure is it that i will get thee vvvisa extension? or do i need to cancel my ticket and keeep it to the original 6-13 and then apply for eextensionn and then change emy ticket to 16 after getting thee extension?
Hello, I have required 60 days, which was allowed. I would like to extend the VISA After 60 days, but I would like to visit Cambodia and then going back to Thailand. I am an EU citizen and its allowed for us to stay 30 days without VISA in Thailand. Is it possible to extend the VISA that way?
Yes I believe this is generally called a border run. If you leave the Kingdom of Thailand and then return you should be granted the tourist visa upon entry if that is the agreement between your country of origin and Thailand 😊
After the extension, can you leave Thailand to a neighbouring country such as Cambodia then come back and do this process repeatedly or is there a limit to how many times one can reenter Thailand in a given calendar year?
Hi Tina 👋🏼 I’m actually not entirely sure on this one in particular. I know that remote workers do need to cross the border every month or two to refresh their visas but I just don’t know if you can do the same with this process… try asking the question on some other forums, sorry I can’t be of more help!
Yes I believe you can! I'm not sure on the legitimacy of it all but in Thailand you can pay an agent for most things visa related it seems. At least for some assistance and guidance.

The proof of stay is only for your current address. You won’t need to have the rest of your trip planned 😊 does that help?
@@cjexplores Oh, I see, thank you for clarification - but how did you know you needed it? Like I said, the visa website doesn’t even mention this.

Do we actually need the TM30 printed out? I already asked 2 different hotels and they told me they can’t print it.
You do need it printed out! You can print it out for them to fill out. We have the link in the description 😊

1900B for 30 days extension. Not worth it. Take a border run may be cheaper
Slightly less convenient for a border run!
Visa run services are usually more than 1900.
Can somebody do it instead of me?
