The developer really took full advantage of the "scary but emotional" feelings with this ending. Not only is it much more violent compared other Exe games, it also has that anguish factor; the characters are convinced that they can defeat Executor, or at least escape from him, but in the end, they all just slowly suffered and then died. It's moments like the parts with Cream, Amy, and Tails, along with the right music, that can make you not only horrified at the sight, but also want to shed a tear.
