I just started Muay Thai classes my Kru is my boss at work lmao and is a Dutch styled fighter but gravitate more towards boron and sylvie duuglas (training with the golden age) fighters etc but some of the Dutch style techniques make sense. Versus traditional.
Boran is self-defence. Muah thai is sport version flashy moves and highlights. First move set i learned in boran class. Elbow to throat, break the addams apple, Knee to groin and neck while twisthing on opposite direction. Result Death.

Love Muay Boran but it is not available to me. You have a great video. I would love for you to make some video with combinations that we could train at home. Big hello, great greeting
I have many videos that I would like to make, with drills, combinations, and much more, but unfortunately due to Covid, I am forced to slow down the production. Please have a little patience and many useful and interesting videos will come! Thank you for your comment!

There are many people performing Muay Boran techniques because the human body is essentially the same, so when martial arts have little rules they all become quite similar. That last one it was definitely a confuser the first kick delivered seemed like a thigh kick at first but dam dat hit the stomach area you can easily do a liver shot with that
Generally, there are 8 forms for each weapon (the head usually doesn't have one), and also forms of a set of techniques called Cherng Muay, once again divided into 8 groups depending on the weapon. Then there is the form of the 15 Fundamental strategies (Mae Mai) and the form of the 15 Complementary Strategies (Look Mai). So mainly there are 18 forms. But every style has a different curriculum. Forms are a recent addition to the repertoire, from my research I would say they started spreading around 1950 thanks to styles like Muay Lertrit (the original one) and Thaiyuth. The true Katas of Muay Boran is the Wai Kru Ram Muay (Ritual Dance Before the Fights) movements, which hide principles and techniques, and are very old. Keep in mind that forms are just a sequence of a set of techniques and we know for sure what the movements mean, unlike with the Wai Kru Ram Muay movements which have different interpretations.
