Generally a good review, and well made, but the audio you play from the speaker sounds awful. There is no way to judge if the speaker is good or not from that. You need a comparison with a highly rated speaker (like the BOSE Soundlink II mini, for instance), for your audio to make any sense at all.

I understand why you like Boat Stone 1500 like many others. It quite difficult to beat the price-performance ratio that Boat Stone 1500 offers. I own both, 1400 and 1500 and pretty satisfied with what they offer. However I'm always looking for lesser known brands that offer competitive products and a real bang-for-your-buck. I also know what premium brands like JBL, BOSE, UE, Harman Kardon and others offer. I personally own Bose Revolve Plus 2, JBL Boombox 2 and UE HyperBoom. Undoubtedly they are excellent products but no matter how good they sound they are still ridiculously priced which brings down their overall Value. And that's why I look for brands like Tribit, Soundcore, Doss, Boat and the like..

The sound on the 1500 is far richer and fuller and the bass is also a shade better(deeper) than on the 1400.
