Everyone complaining about mc's. WTF man..they're part of the deal. Having an mc makes all the difference in a live situation. You can always buy the songs and listen to them without the mc, but people today want everything for free. Honestly, this mc is doing an incredible job...so much energy!!
Yep, MC's have been part of live dnb for over 25 years. They add to the live experience, not so good on studio stuff usually imo. He has his moments... I've heard a lot worse. The people slagging him off have probably only been listening to dnb after they grew out of listening to Rihanna....😈😜😜😜

I still hear people talk about him months after partys because of how he hyped the crowd and did a good job. I mean good MCs are dope, but most of these guys are just increadibly ego-boosted untalented wankers. They just repeat shit like let it roll or let me see some fucking hands. I mean rly? :D Its demented and downgrading the rave imo. One more question: Are these MCs paid for this?
I guess they are.. I think they would't do it for free.. although I agree that they shouldn't be paid for this shitshow at all :D this is for sure one of the worst and most annoying MCs I've ever heard, metal-like voice and just doesn't shut up for a while
LOL yes they are paid if you're talking events this size (small club nights sometimes not). Why MCs when very few other dance genres have them goes waaaaay back to the birth of the scene when it was jungle splitting off from hardcore (old skool rave, early 90s UK). Jungle was different from existing breakbeat rave partly because it was influenced by both dub and ragga featuring the sub bass of dub and the vocals of ragga. These roots are also why dnb has rewinds. Those 2 genres both had MCs, so jungle nights had MCs, altho it was less chat than todays jump up egomaniacs, it was crowd hyping and organising reloads. The MCs were popular tho in those times I believe. Fast forward and yes there have been many AWFUL, STUPID MCs. See Shabba D, Skiba (who was good originally), Harry Shotta etc. It's often the fatal combo of low intelligence and a hugely inflated ego (and cocaine). But great MCs with sick lyrics exist. Look up a Technical Itch set with MC Jakes or pretty much any Renegade Hardware set esp with 2Shy or MC:SP or Rage. Out of the Jump Up ones I think MC Foxy is the best. I see you acknowledge good MCs exist cos imo a lot of the reason they're so hated on youtube etc is if someones never been to a decent dnb night they won't "get" it and it would ruin mixes. But cos we have if the MC is good we can envisage the atmosphere. Similar with rewinds. If used sparingly only when the CROWD want it not just the MC calling it every 5 secs after mediocre crowd reactions then it can def build atmosphere and excitement. I think no matter how sick the tune is 1 rewind is always enough tho. Apparently first time Andy C - Body Rock was dropped at Homelands it got like 4?? or def 3 rewinds LOL how ridiculous! I hate that tune anyway! I always found it v amusing when the MC calls rewind and the DJ ignores him. I've seen that happen before! If you have loads of rewinds in a 1 hour set it really reduces the music time and the mix is so stop and start... Anyway TL;DR = cheesy jump up nights have awful MCs but stuff like PRSPCT and Therapy Sessions have good ones.
@@inmune593 listen to a Renegade Hardware set with MC:SP, he adds to the music and actually has clever lyrics! it's when the MC stops seeing themelves as a humble host to the music and starts seeing themselves as a draw in their own right or a partner to the DJ that things go v wrong. Also there are some low intelligence ppl out there who love low intelligence MCs and fund their popularity so it's partly their fault too but I don't wanna be classist, if they wanna go to Knights of the MCs or to shout Shabba's lyrics back at him in his ridiculous and offensive fake black dialect then that's their choice.

I guess they are.. I think they would't do it for free.. although I agree that they shouldn't be paid for this shitshow at all :D this is for sure one of the worst and most annoying MCs I've ever heard, metal-like voice and just doesn't shut up for a while

LOL yes they are paid if you're talking events this size (small club nights sometimes not). Why MCs when very few other dance genres have them goes waaaaay back to the birth of the scene when it was jungle splitting off from hardcore (old skool rave, early 90s UK). Jungle was different from existing breakbeat rave partly because it was influenced by both dub and ragga featuring the sub bass of dub and the vocals of ragga. These roots are also why dnb has rewinds. Those 2 genres both had MCs, so jungle nights had MCs, altho it was less chat than todays jump up egomaniacs, it was crowd hyping and organising reloads. The MCs were popular tho in those times I believe.
Fast forward and yes there have been many AWFUL, STUPID MCs. See Shabba D, Skiba (who was good originally), Harry Shotta etc. It's often the fatal combo of low intelligence and a hugely inflated ego (and cocaine). But great MCs with sick lyrics exist. Look up a Technical Itch set with MC Jakes or pretty much any Renegade Hardware set esp with 2Shy or MC:SP or Rage. Out of the Jump Up ones I think MC Foxy is the best. I see you acknowledge good MCs exist cos imo a lot of the reason they're so hated on youtube etc is if someones never been to a decent dnb night they won't "get" it and it would ruin mixes. But cos we have if the MC is good we can envisage the atmosphere. Similar with rewinds. If used sparingly only when the CROWD want it not just the MC calling it every 5 secs after mediocre crowd reactions then it can def build atmosphere and excitement. I think no matter how sick the tune is 1 rewind is always enough tho. Apparently first time Andy C - Body Rock was dropped at Homelands it got like 4?? or def 3 rewinds LOL how ridiculous! I hate that tune anyway! I always found it v amusing when the MC calls rewind and the DJ ignores him. I've seen that happen before! If you have loads of rewinds in a 1 hour set it really reduces the music time and the mix is so stop and start... Anyway TL;DR = cheesy jump up nights have awful MCs but stuff like PRSPCT and Therapy Sessions have good ones.
@@inmune593 listen to a Renegade Hardware set with MC:SP, he adds to the music and actually has clever lyrics! it's when the MC stops seeing themelves as a humble host to the music and starts seeing themselves as a draw in their own right or a partner to the DJ that things go v wrong. Also there are some low intelligence ppl out there who love low intelligence MCs and fund their popularity so it's partly their fault too but I don't wanna be classist, if they wanna go to Knights of the MCs or to shout Shabba's lyrics back at him in his ridiculous and offensive fake black dialect then that's their choice.
