My dad is the coal miner at 12.0 sec. and one of them walking in the mine in front of the joy miner in the other commercial. he was at work at the coal mine and some foreigners came through and he was polite and said hello and next thing he knew they offered him the part. he was paid 7,000 dollars for the two commercials and that was big money in 1979. thanks for posting the commercial. oh and dad only chews Copenhagen but he still has the mustache!!
I was 10 when this commercial came out every "real man" that I knew either chewed Beechnut or Redman, or they dipped Cope snuff. My Dad bought me a bag of Redman Golden Blend at Kmart, halfway home he turned to me and said "damn boy, you ain't spit yet?" That's when I started feeling funny and turned green. Lol 😎

My alarm music from now on.
I dont get why the government allows alcohol commercials but not tobbacco commercials... Or medicines with a text book full of side effects...
I’m 18, I wish I lived then, & not now, where commercials like this wouldn’t be canceled.

I was 9 years old the first time I saw this commercial. By the time it was over I'd completely gone through puberty.
