FINALLY a reviewer that takes his camera out and puts the lens on it, and shows some of the actual functionality = a Like + Subscribed.

In the menu enable "catch in focus" The shutter will only fire if a MF lens is in focus and the AF switch is set to AF not MF. It works great. I depress the shutter release and turn the focusing ring, when it's in focus the shutter will fire. Simple.

I just bought this exact lens. It arrived a couple of hours ago. It is nice and clean, aperture ring is kinda tight but it appears to be in good shape. It's my first Pentax-A lens. Can't wait to try it out. I have several Takumars and a few Pentax-M lenses. Great lenses with nice glass. They are a joy to use. Thanks for the video by the way. I wanted to confirm whether or not to put the aperture ring in A or not.

Hi thanks for the video! I just ordered that lens and already have the 50 never new about the aperture lock. Can you go through the steps to use a manual lens on the k50 I have that camera and am a newbie with manual set up. Thanks for your time

Good videos Lee, although whilst I don't mind the accompanying music, could you turn it down a couple of db? Also, enjoyed your 50mm FA1.4 / FA1.7 / SMC A1.4 comparison.

Hi Lee. Good video and advice on how to obtain often overlooked lenses on a budget. I was wondering which DX Pentax DSLR would you recommend these days for the best price?
