    I absolutely can, they way they use the spinal engine is really cool. I'd love to know how intent comes into is. kinda looks like a throwing or flicking intent. and I will always encourage some sort of spirit shout practice, it's cathartic and helps activate the deep core.

    I see a lot of both I-Chuan (Yi-Quan) & Taikiken in these forms, though without an English explanation of the chi-gung (Nei gung) breathing patterns, to merely copy these movements, while very beautiful to watch and structurally sound, would produce little combat effectiveness. I have no doubt these techniques have a lot going on in them, but no applications are shown, so this presentation, while it shows me quite a bit- it also shows me not very much at all. Too bad because older, more obscure styles of Hsing-I really interest me.

    • @championboy4782

      Same, this is apparantly the mother style of all Xingyi, Xinyiliuhe, yiquan/taikiken.
      The grandaddy of them all and far as I know, the most diffult to learn.
      Xingyi body preparation takes 1 year of standing. This style body prep takes 3 years of standing, given you reach 30+ mins a day by the end of first year.

      It's some very basic information about him, Chen Jinfu, born in Shanxi province Qi County, studied Xinyiquan since childhood from 5th generation master Wang Yinghai, then it says, he leads some local martial arts organizations and then it lists some prizes he has won in 2001, 2002 and 2007. One of the few intact Xingyiquan styles… not saying it’s the best, but intact and rare these days.
    What your seeing is a bunch of prep exercises to train specific (power/force). Then the actual main technique along with the Yin version (secondary technique). Sometimes a Technique might have more than two.. Say Pi Quan .here you witnessed a bunch of exercises based around rise, drill and fall, Pi techniques with the hands, with the fist and with the elbow along prep exercises. Etc. and so on and so on….

    the little i know of xing i chuan, i love. the little i visually understand xinyi, i am intrigued. but i must quote a question one of my teachers once asked. not out of disrespect to this man and the years of hard work, but out of respect to application.
    “yeah, but can he fight?”

    • @memorystoragegadget0018
      @memorystoragegadget0018 3 года назад

      No. What he performed is mostly for exercise. If any of the Dai Xinyi practitioners could fight, It would be like Jin/Shanxi Sheep Wrestling.

    Looks like this version of Xingyiquan needs to be seriously pressure tested

    • @wtfgeis
      @wtfgeis Год назад +1

      This is not a "version" of Xingyiquan, it is the precursor to Xingyiquan. It was "pressure tested" for centuries.

    • @Blueslicks321
      @Blueslicks321 Год назад

      @@wtfgeis Maybe centuries ago it was... IMO but not know! IMO, He's doing things that have been warped from decades of people copying the movements, clueless of what they actually did. The main problem with TCMA is it's folk nature. People practicing in a backyards, & never pressure testing what they are doing... that's my take, You want to think this guy would hang with an amateur boxer go ahead (but that is my prowess test, not a pro boxer, very few of us become pro at sanything) just an amateur. boxer... I don't. Know that I'm not saying its bad,,, but it's been my case that the least qualified "prowess wise" referring to TCMA are the Family styles or rare secluded styles as this... they never get out and exchange hands. the result is movements that have no martial usage at all (and this is displaying a ton of that)

    • @wtfgeis
      @wtfgeis Год назад

      @@Blueslicks321 Yes, I understand what you are saying. I have trained in various martial arts for the last 34 years, boxing included, and I get what you are saying. What I am saying is that there was absolutely a time where this martial art was used in real life, in actual combat, and that is exactly the reason it still exists today. I'm not saying that a practitioner of this system would do blah blah blah against an MMA competitor or a boxer or a ninja. What I am saying is that the human race is fundamentally pragmatic. If something didn't work, it never would have survived past a certain point. Against the average goofball on the street who attacks someone who is a legit practitioner of this, they're going to crush the attacker. Against an MMA guy/gal who trains 7 hours a day or a boxer who does the same, not even worth comparing. It's not apples to apples and it is just not that simple. This is also a common misunderstanding as to why traditional martial arts can't "compete" with MMA people. Those people are typically athletes, even the ones who just train 3-4 times a week. It's hilarious to think that anyone who just sticks to traditional methods and ALSO can't use half of their techniques anyway because they are banned will have a chance at someone who is literally an athlete without brining in martial training.
