In this video I'm going to show you how to change the battery on your BMW car key fob. You first want to start by getting yourself a small screwdriver and your replacement 2450 battery. Next, remove the dead or low battery as I have shown you. At that point, all you need to do is snap on the back cover and put the key back in. You're all done!

Good video, however the fob is designed so the key itself fits perfectly in the hole to release the back panel. No screwdriver is needed.
Great video, thanks for sharing. FYI the key itself fits in the slot to pop off the back of the fob if you don't have a screw driver.
Yes, just gently pressing the emergency key into the slot pops the cover.
A narrow bottle opener like one on a multi tool also works when you have lost the key. lol

Thanks a bunch for posting this very easy video on how to change the battery, something that the dealership never mentioned to me that I’d need to do so I was shocked when I kept getting a reminder and had no idea what to do. I was going to go to the dealership tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind for never mentioning this when I bought the car back in 2016, let alone showing me how to do it, but now thanks to your great, informative and easy to follow instructions, I won’t have to go to my local BMW dealership to tell them off and cause myself unnecessary stress and aggravation! 👍🏻👍🏻🤩🤩

Great video. I would add (due to experience) when closing the cover, press down directly over the tab used to open it. I was pressing on the sides at first and not having any luck.

the key part you pulled out, fits perfectly into where you put the flat head screwdriver... Pretty sure that is the whole reason they mad it that way to open for battery change.

You can use the key to pop it open as well. Just take the key and put it in the same hole. This way you don’t need anything except a new battery
