I hope Dolgoch will get his history video uploaded onto the Talyllyn Railway's RUclips channel soon to celebrate his 160th birthday. By the way, happy 160th birthday to Talyllyn.
Being 160 years old and still working it's quite the achievement. I mean the oldest engine I've ever seen is the Pays de Waes in the Belgian Railway Museum train world. It's technically also a narrow gauge since it runs on narrower tracks. and it was from 1844 But has never worked in preservation. that just goes to show how rare this beautiful locomotive is (And I am talking about Talyllyn When I said that.)
Little old engine she is Got to see her at the extravaganza 4 and WOW she may be small for a steam engine but is mighty good looking and powerful it seems too . That blue you lot put her in is so glamorous . Same with dolgoch and her green paint . Tho I do prefer the green for talylln also I do like her blue .
Hopefully by the time the next event comes around Bachman will have released there 009 talylln in green , black or red . Why not her blue one I don’t know tho I ain’t to fussed . Anyways love your little railway in the hills so relaxing and calming . Couldn’t help but sing skarloey songs and hart of gold whilst seeing the trains go by . The viaduct is really magical to me . Reminds me of the time a certain Scottish engine based of Douglas got stuck on there 😂😂😂. And warf is so nice . Got to see midlander as rusty and sir Hayden with an eyepatch . Alf dressed as Fred and Tom rolt too Love the railway . I am dragging my mom back yearly now 😂 . She wants a piece of welsh slate from the quarry next time we come over . And I wanna give a go at voulenteering . Like the revrend did all that time ago . I have always seemed to be interested in guarding a passinger train . Seemed fun . Let’s seee if I don’t forget nobody tho 😂 Bye
I had the privilege of being in a coach being pulled and pushed by Talyllyn this year. Beautiful in the blue and pulls like, well, A train! Happy birthday to the plucky little engine that captures the imagination of people everywhere
I got to see her and Dollogoch earlier this year on a family holiday. And I must say, in person she looks gorgeous in the Great Eastern inspired livery.
I wish someone did a joke when they would write a letter saying “happy birthday Tallyllyn 160 is a big feet I wish you dry rails and smooth runnings -sensorially Skarloey”
So while Talyllyn arrived on the 24th of September 1864, does anyone know what month in 1864 exactly they started building her? I haven’t found anything.
As said in the video, she didn't actually arrive until April 1865 - but was completed on the 24th September 1864. It is theorised that the order may have been placed around April 1864, based upon the build timelines of other Fletcher Jennings locomotives.
If we get technical - no, but also yes. Talyllyn was considered a Class A at first by Fletcher Jennings, the notable difference was her being smaller than most others. After she went back in 1867 to have trailing wheels fitted, advertisements for the 0-4-2 version of the Class A described the type of loco as a Class C - so she is a Class C, but only retroactively.
Our sincere apologies, it is certainly not our intention to limit who can enjoy our videos and I am truly sorry. I've just added captions to this video so hopefully they should appear soon. We will endeavor to do better, as a one person team it can be a little hard sometimes to meet the mark - but that is no excuse. We'll make sure all new videos have CCs within a few days of upload and try our best to add them to existing ones. Again, our apologies - we do hope you enjoy the video now it has closed captions.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAY OLD GALLENT ENGINE
happy birthday old girl
Never knew there were Rev Awdry recordings of Four Little Engines & Very Old Engines. Were they unreleased?
I wish someone did a joke when they would write a letter saying “happy birthday Tallyllyn 160 is a big feet I wish you dry rails and smooth runnings -sensorially Skarloey”
So while Talyllyn arrived on the 24th of September 1864, does anyone know what month in 1864 exactly they started building her? I haven’t found anything.

What was the Original livery of the engines when Dolgoch and Tallyllyn came to the railway
Green for dolgoch and blue for tallylln
Great
Where did you get the recording of Awdry narrating the other books? I thought he only narrated his first two stories.
Do dolgoch also
Let’s go 🎉❤❤😂🎉
Penblwydd hapus, Talyllyn!
hooray!
The only other famed thing fact or fiction that I know to be around 160 years old is Professor Farnsworth
Dang that loco is 160 years old
Yoooo our engine's getting old
Penblwydd Hapus Talyllyn 🎂
What flavor was the Cake? :)
By the looks of it I think it was chocolate.
Talyllyn loves chocolate cake I think.
Omg
Non rail fans be like *HUH, WHAT'S THAT RUBBISH??!!!*
Isn’t Tallylyn a Class C?
If we get technical - no, but also yes.
Talyllyn was considered a Class A at first by Fletcher Jennings, the notable difference was her being smaller than most others. After she went back in 1867 to have trailing wheels fitted, advertisements for the 0-4-2 version of the Class A described the type of loco as a Class C - so she is a Class C, but only retroactively.
How come you refuse to have closed captioning making your video completely inaccessible to Deaf people?
