Best cover of this song I've heard so far, great job! I've only been playing guitar for a few months and would really love to learn how to play this song, think you could share how you play it?

Mike Bittel hey man! thank you so much! yeah here are the chords:
      verse 1: Am7 - Am7/G - Fmaj
prechorus (“And I see you now...”): Fmaj - Gmaj
“chorus” (“Just don’t forget...”): same as verse 1
in the second verses, (“You’re the only little girl I know...” so on and so forth), the time signature changes from 3/4 to 4/4, but they’re the same chords as the verses and the chorus.
in the bridge, it’s pretty much Am7 to Gmaj to Fmaj doing eighth note down strokes with some accents here and there as you can hear in the original recording or in my cover. whatever’s easier for you!
as far as my picking pattern, I honestly don’t know how to teach it because it’s something I’ve just felt out/taught myself. but it isn’t necessary; Dermot just lightly strums with his thumb in the recording. it’s really a taste, stylized thing. maybe you can meld your own picking pattern with the strumming pattern, combining the two. it’s really up to you- make the song your own in some ways!
lastly, the original key of the song is in the C shapes I gave you above with the capo on the 2nd fret (the song is in D major). I played it in with the same shapes on the 1st fret, but you can play them wherever so long as you can sing it to fit your voice!
I hope this helps and thanks again for the kind words. :)

Yes, I'm here commenting again! Last comment, I promise.
So this is currently my favorite song and you sing it just as good as Dermot does and I'm so surprised by that.
Love your style. Keep singing. I really adore it.
