To clarify, it’s actually in the base game. You had to do enough of the Classic Sonic / Modern Sonic Challenge Acts in each of the 9 stages and get enough of the Red Star Rings to unlock this song among many of other fantastic remixes. The Casino Night pinball table was DLC however.
If I remember correctly, this track is one of the ones you can unlock from the music notes that comes out of the bells on top of the bonus mission portals. The Generations remix (the version played here, of course) is pretty dope!
The first time I heard the remix (I unlocked it in the game) was a great day for me. It’s one of my favorite tracks from the Classic days, outside of those that come from the Classic trilogy, and the remix sounds amazing. I’m glad you enjoyed your first listen to this version of the tune.

Toxic Caves was not DLC, it was one of the many unlockable tracks you could unlock and choose to play during stages.
If you got the Casino Night DLC though then you know you had to play this music

Sometimes you get them from Red Rings, sometimes you get Gold Notes from Challenge Bells.

Is not a DLC, is an unlockable music track on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions.
Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are respectively on the Xbox One and PS4.
