It's a shame Brubaker isn't rewarded more for his story making one of the best MCU movies.
I've never really followed any captain america comics, but the movies and shows have definitely intrigued me.

Brubaker's entire run is going into reprint but I don't recall the timeline. I think the second book is dropping in june.

Recently started collecting comics via Omnibus format.
Mostly I've been focused on early '80s due to nostalgia from my childhood reading but this artwork looks insane!!!
Bought *Captain America Lives* and currently waited on *Trail Of Captain America* to be delivered today hopefully, with *Return Of The Winter Soldier* preordered. Sadly missed the reprints of those first two volumes so hopeful they get a reprint next year 🤞 will hold off reading these latter titles until I have the collection, but cannot wait
I got the last 2 omnibuses while they were still cheap and in print. I’m glad the first 3 are getting reprints so I can read in order!
Captain america lives is getting a reprint? I went on organic priced and saw the 1st and 2nd but didn't see captain america lives omni

I really enjoyed these omnis when I read them I think I knocked em all out in like 2 months but I do think the first 3 are the best I think it dips slightly with the last two

Been looking forward to these since you mentioned doing these types of videos! I never really got too far into the captain America stuff when I was a kid but the MCU made me appreciate him more. I tried to get interested but I just didn’t think he was that exciting and I remember watching the 90’s movie with my dad and red skull scared the hell outta me. Lol

I recommend reading the story however you need to. If you want the omnibus but domt have money for it right now id even suggest using Marvel unlimited to read this.
Personally i dont collect omnibi because i do singles but i like watching videos on the stories and seeing whats collected.

Same as below. I have never read any of the older cap comics but, I love the movies and the show! So damn good!
Solid review and not too spoilery. I always considered Captain America too "goody-two-shoes" to be interesting, sorta like Superman. But now I'll check these out.
The show FnWS is an amalgamation of different captain america stories with John Walker, Bucky, and Sam
I got a majority of the Cap comics, even the issue where Steve is the Red Skulls bodyguard when he runs for president

Good timing with the review, had no idea how close the comics were. Always prefer when the movies and TV shows respect the source material, that's why the X-Men movies lost me shortly after the first 3.

Brubaker's run on Cap is tied with Waid/Garney's run as my favorite Cap run all time. Between Mark Waid and Ed Brubaker those are the best Cap stories probably ever written.
The Brubaker run on Captain America is so good. One of my go-to reads when I was still buying singles. I should grab these omnibus one of these days.

Brubaker's Cap is the best Cap run ever, imo. Followed by Waid and Garney for me.
