As I say in the vid today, thanks to all you awesome People for your continual support I really appreciate it and you guys and gals are the best. Now Today an awesome haul for the stack plenty of copper brass and Aluminium. So sit back relax. Enjoy the video and I can’t wait to see you all in next Fridays video.👋🏻😁
I just purchased my first devil forge.i will do first light this Saturday. It's a 10 kilo. My question for you is , what MPa do you use for copper and aluminum?
@johnnykerley4791 ----- REGULATOR SET POINT and adjustments 0.12MPa Copper 0.10MPa Brass / Bronzes 0.08MPa Aluminium I set the regulator at 0.10MPa for brass and when it gets up closer to its melting point I backed the furnace off to 0.08MPa or even lower to make sure I don’t accidentally overheat the brass and burn off the zinc.
I'm not an electrician, but I played one in the Navy (no degree or tradesman's rank, is what I mean) - those look like capacitors. And once you showed the label on the side, it confirmed it. The "uF" is microfarads which is the SI symbol and measurement for capacitance. So just to be safe, I did a quick search and found other similar ones that I can't post a link to here due to YT spam-filters, but they're out there. :) No drop bears today. Just drop-capacitors! Also, those super thin copper bar pours are just doin' it for me. Eye pleasing and soul quenching! Love it!
I caught the microFarad label too. Definitely capacitors of some type. You probably know more about them than me, but I recognized the shape and the unit from all of Backyard Scientist's giant capacitor bank experiments.
@@robertsnowdon6932 - From Wiki: The drop bear (sometimes dropbear) is a hoax in contemporary Australian folklore featuring a predatory, carnivorous version of the koala. This imaginary animal is commonly spoken about in tall tales designed to scare tourists. While koalas are typically docile herbivores (and are not bears), drop bears are described as unusually large and vicious marsupials that inhabit treetops and attack unsuspecting people (or other prey) that walk beneath them by dropping onto their heads from above
It’s Friday late morning, and I’m on my break. what a great way to break up my day by starting this video :). I’ll be watching bits of it throughout my work day, and be done before I head back home. Always an awesome way to be reminded it’s Friday :). It has become a personal tradition now. Friday? BigstackD video to start yet another great weekend :). I’m also loving the nighttime copper pours! The bright red hot colors are so cool! Again, a big thank you to our best Aussie friend BigStackD for taking the time to make these videos for us!
You are just so authentic, so real, I can imagine people appreciate that about you, so do I, and I look forward to your loooooong video every Friday. Best regards 🤗🤗🤗
Mate your asmr in the past month has been outstanding. I have watched each episode several times, because you are putting me to sleep. Not because you are boring or nothing at all like that. I watch your videos because the calm me down, (ptsd) It is such a pleasure to get to watch you.
i think it would be fun to watch if you find an old enigine from a car. A complete one, take it appart, starter, dynamo, alu head, and maybe alu block, and melt and mix everything that melts. See what comes from that.
Nice video, love see the poured bars results, love the cooling ripples. Nice to see Ingot and Bullion, cute puppies. Made me laugh at the end with the race car and oldbeater. I watched that part 3 times. I'm still smiling about that. Great video. See ya next friday. Thanks again!!
5:54. To answer your question. (12 year ac tradesman). Capacitors. Usually filled with mineral oil and I think wax paper with some kind of metal. Not 100% sure on what metal but 100% mineral oil in each. Also, thank you for making vids. Keep up the great work. Respect.
Thankfully they have the discharge resistor across the terminals to keep them safe. Without that, those can keep a charge almost forever and could be dangerous in the wrong situation. The capacitors appear to be 3 x 8 uF in parallel which is 24 uF at a 440V rating and could give you a bit of a surprise if not discharged. The resistor is a 6.8K (blue - 6, grey - 8, red - x100 = 6800 = 6.8k) probably a 2 watt (hard to tell exactly) which is to slowly discharge the capacitors once power is removed.
From what I could dig up, the Ducon GPM series is a paper-electrolyte capacitor so apart from the can, there's likely no melt-ables inside and may even possibly contain PCB ( polychlorinated biphenyls) so best leave them intact. www.nepc.gov.au/sites/default/files/2022-09/anzecc-gl-identification-pcb-containing-capacitors-information-booklet-electricians-and-electrical.pdf
Yes capacitors can be ⚡⚡⚡ dangerous. Those have a way to discharge but many do not. Always short out the outputs on them with an electricians screwdriver or lineman's pliers before doing anything further. Something that is well insulated. Caps that size can kill a man fairly easily if fully charged. Not to be trifled with for sure.
That was a load of meltables! Some really nice copper and the thick aluminum, and even some good brass. All in a small package. They made some good looking bars! Were still struggling in the Midwest to get half the temperture you are, plus were getting a ton of rain, Michigan is missing the tornado's though since it's too chilly yet, just 100 miles south though its warm enough and they have had a few. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, nothing like a good BigstackD video to get friday off to a good start with the weekend fingertips away!
Would love to see one of your larger bars, milled and polished to perfection on all sides, or maybe if a copper bar, leave the top rough to kind of show the contrast of what lies beneath. Always love your content and look forward to starting the weekend off right with your latest video.
No problems mate it will come back in to play but only to annoy my friends. it won’t ever come back again with any more Can crushing. I can guarantee you that. I had quite a few comments about people saying I should’ve left it out which is completely right. I just put it all together and then didn’t even think to delete the sound, but again, it’s just a piss off a couple of my buddies for reasons I’ve said before, but no point getting into it now👊🏻😁🍻🍻.
Hi from France ! I'm looking to your melts since a year and just wanted to say you that I like it, sometimes, one of you videos pops in my list, and it's always a nice moment to see it. I'm not a fan of "regular" ASMR, but you made something else, sometimes I just wait for the huge steak-time, sometimes for the dog-time, and I'm always fascinated by the different metals you pour. Not only the incredible vault you stacked, but also the physical properties during the melting process. Satisfying ice cooling or boiling ingots !!! Keep creating, that's pretty hypnotizing ;)
Hello, I'm always happy to see you. I also made a burner, and next time I'm thinking of making a small and light furnace. Thank you for your help, please keep up the good work.
My new all time favourite, Nr.1 & best aluminium pour i have seen. The aluminiums smoothness appears to be, unreal including out of this world👌🤯👍👌😁👍 Ur friend really😁👍 knows how to, weld together steel to become topnotch and high quality designs.
I've taken to pre-roasting varnished copper. Hit it with a heat just high enough to burn off the varnish. I do the same to roast the liners and paint off of aluminum cans. I got the idea from a documentary about an aluminum recycling plant.
Nice haul there Big D! When you put up what the Bin Chicken eats, you should have added anything in a garbage can 😆 No BigsnackD today? Have an awesome weekend mate.
How are ya? Thanks again buddy much appreciated as always. Yes I did do a big snack D went to my local bakery and grabbed a couple of meat pies but while editing I accidentally deleted that out but not to worry. I’m sure I’ll squeeze it in on a future video have a great weekend buddy chat with you soon👊🏻😁.
I say this everytime: watch those capacitors! They can hold a charge for a long ass time and can be lethal under the right circumstance. Never hurts to short them out quick before throwing them around.

Yeah - 8 micro-Ferads, 440V. Those could fetch some beer money on ebay.

Looks to be ganged together to make one big capacitor.
Perfect ASMR and sleep-in content.

Nice haul. Love the copper as it cools. And really love your dogs. Sweet guys.
Nice haul, beautiful looking mirrored bars. The mold your mate made is making some nice looking bars.
Love it when the big molds are used. Especially with copper!
…super right way to appreciate our everyday metals…thank you…
Always enjoy watching everyone of the pours, Nordic gold is my favorite to watch.
30:10 Glad you went back for the piece of copper that was trying to make a break for it - my OCD was going bananas!!
We need to get a petition started to outlaw flathead screws worldwide.
As well Poz drives make all screws a Allan key type then you would get a all round purchase on the screw
I think square headed screws should also be banned
AMEN
They know what they've done.
But, and hear me out, they're the screw that you're least likely to strip. While I hate them too, I think they're really good

watching you take apart that transformer was captivating. Great editing.
Love that green flame! And seeing the boys again.
I am digging the sound effects when the dogs were running.
Bullion *is* speed!
Ingot is just adorable.
@7:59 *The majestic Australian White Ibis, aka the 'Bin Chicken'.* 😆😆😆
You should do more nighttime videos. The crickets in the background, the gravel.. it's really nice. It reminds me of camping when I was a kid
