  • In mid-2013, villagers living in a remote community in the Madre de Dios region were surprised by a visit from an indigenous group of Peoples Living in Voluntary Isolation called the Mascho Yine. This remarkable footage taken by a community member captures a rare glimpse of humans who live a nomadic life deep in the jungle, secret and hidden from the outside world, and sheltered from modern day civilized influence. It is difficult to know for sure, but many anthropologists believe these people do not know much, if anything at all of the the lifestyles and possessions the rest of us have--cars, electricity, TV, packaged food, the wheel, computers? Are these some of the last remaining free peoples on Earth?
At Beyond Contact, we believe that it is of utmost importance to protect the lands of indigenous groups so that they may continue to live their lives in their traditional ways, if they so choose to continue to do so. It is vital that we allow indigenous groups the space they need and do not allow development in or around their community lands. Beyond Contact and its partners actively work to protect and buffer the areas where we know indigenous tribes are living in voluntary isolation.

I would say to leave them alone, but we need to prove to the world that they exist. Illegal loggers are driving them out of their home and they're being allowed to because the government in those countries have said that these tribes don't exist.
Now that word is out, maybe we can do something.

Look what the "real world" way of live is doing to our planet. Plus, this is a pristine, uninfluenced by modern, well influences, culture and way of life. Its truly beautiful. Why mess with their cultures when we don't need to. Plus one of the big causes of deforestation in teh first place is already illegal, and it causes not only problems for the uncontacted, but also for the contacted locals, the plant and animal life and diversity and more. We need to protect the forests of the world, and these amazing cultures.

Today it is better that they live in Perú and not in Brazi, since Presidente Bolsonaro will suppress the protection of induan reservations and open more areas to logging and agriculture.
Such tribes deserve protection as they want to mantain ther lifestyle.

You guys should take off your pink glasses. They do it to convince governments that they exist, because without proof they exist, the outside world won't support them -which is important because they started to appear near crowded areas.
Educate yourself before you yell "leave them alone", do-gooders...
