I have 3 monetized channels and JYD will be monetized soon and my suggestion is don't have 4 channels lol. It's better to spend all your effort on one channel rather than divide your attention. You are 100 percent correct in the fact that watch time is king. The more people watch the more you get pushed. CTR is a close 2nd because you need people to click. If you do shorts you will divide your channel into 2. You will have your short subs and your long subs and you need to entertain both. Paul, that was a lot of great info in that video! I learned a lot. I never have really looked into what drives things at that level and it was really interesting. Great video my friend! Edit - I was just thinking. I don't understand why certain videos take off and others don't sometimes. Like I have a few videos with many thousands of views and they don't stand out really in any of the analytics. It is like the algorithm sometimes just randomly likes a video.... IDK. I scratch my head sometimes.
The algorithm is weird, it’s a bit of a crapshoot, you know? But I'm glad you liked the video, and learned something new! I have seen them delet views over night its par for the corse I look at it like this soe is good for searching but the algorithm uses behaviors so if you keep people watching it doesn't matter anything else so ones that get spikes are combinations of luck and good content.. I am sure sub count is factored in somewhere but to many without view duration lowers the shareability from what I see..
