Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has started an 11-day penance till October 1, after which he plans to visit Tirumala to seek forgiveness of Lord Venkateswara for what he has called a "malafide attempt to infuse impurity in Tirupati prasadam".
His Jana Sena, an ally of the BJP, has called for the establishment of a Sanathan Dharm Parirakshan Parishad after reports that animal fat was found in cow ghee used to make Tirupati laddoo.
"If this kind of defiling had happened with a church or a masjid, the country would have been put in disarray. It would have become the talk of the world and a global news headline," Pawan Kalyan said.

Strongest condemnation of the Brahmin's poonal / janeyu cutting incident in Tamilnadu. Shame on police, judiciary and govt on taking little action on those perpetrating insults, slur, threats on Brahmins in the past. If the same were done against other communities or so called minorities, the reactions of political parties, media etc would have been very different. Since it is Brahmins, only some bother to be bothered about it. Irony of this nation. Brahmins are the modern day repressed and oppressed.

Even the BJP that is in power at the center for over 2 decades now has never lifted a little finger against this atrocity till today.I think the Tirupati Laddu controversy should act as a clarion call for the Hindus of every description to unite and demand immediate action against the perpetrators of the heinious crime and ensure that Hindu temples are declared out of bounds for state and central governments and politicians of every description is kept away from the affairs of the temples.
